Yvonne is currently a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Court of Protection and Mental Health department. She has extensive experience in health and welfare and financial matters as well as mental capacity issues generally, including deprivation of liberty matters. Yvonne is also continuing to develop her work in the areas of community care law, including judicial review and human rights law. She originally qualified into the private client field so has a good understanding of the financial side of Court of Protection work. After qualification she focused on core private client areas including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, elderly client and care home funding matters and probate. Yvonne has been instructed by family members as well as by the Official Solicitor in Court of Protection cases, concerning such matters as the care, residence and contact arrangements for a vulnerable adult. Such cases arise where the person concerned, lacks or is thought to lack the capacity to make their own decision about the relevant issue and so requires the Court to make decisions in their best interests.
