Laura joined the Family Team at Wollens in March 2020, having graduated from Plymouth University with a First Class Honours Degree and completed her Barrister Training course. Laura specialises in children work and will be able to advise and assist on all issues arising. These include: Parental Responsibility Child Arrangements Parenting Plans Children removal/abduction Grandparents and other carers Drug, alcohol, mental health Laura has worked with both children and adults with learning difficulties, including those with autism which enables her to connect more readily with clients and their families who face those challenges. Laura also has particular understanding of those who have been victims of domestic abuse. This include women, men and those within the LGBQT+ community. Laura has gained specialist training in advocacy (court work) receiving outstanding grades at university for her skills in this area and throughout her studies, Laura has worked with several law firms, where client focus is the upmost priority. Laura has strong ties to the local area and outside work enjoys spending time by the sea walking her dog. She is a keen gardener and enjoys keeping fit, cycling and attending the gym. She is also in the process of being elected to the Board of Governors to a local multi-academy.
