Mathew Waddington aka Mat,(as he is more commonly known to his clients,who is a member of and sits on the Children's panel and is a long term Solicitor and Partner in the firm who is also the head of the family and safe from harm division at Harrison Clark Rickerbys of Worcester is a utter disgrace in my opinion.The best way to describe the service received by him I find is that it was delivered in a almost robotic fashion with no apparent empathy towards his client at any stage.He appeared to instead many times just want to go through the motions for the sake of ticking his boxes in a attempt to be seen ( on paper atleast ) to go through the processes which are required at very minimum level atleast. In my opinion this can only be because he is motivated almost entirely by monetary reasons.He appeared to be overwhelmed by his workload time and time again and yet despite this he kept on taking ever more new cases on. This type of behaviour is not fair on any old or potentially new clients of his and Harrison Clark Rickerbys of Worcester.He falsely reassures his clients that he listens to them and that he takes onboard everything they say and that he personally reads all email communications received,but I cought Mathew out several times by asking him to discuss a particular email.His response was a defensive one and he claimed that I was not his only client etc and that he was a busy sought after man who is highly rated and that he knew what he was doing.Complacency no doubt is one of the things that Mathew Waddington suffers from.He also many times made me question myself when saying such things as " are you sure that you've sent it "? and "I told you to complete this important task but you haven't, have you". and "that is why you are harming your own case". There were many of these occasions and he is no stranger to raising his voice and losing his temper often calling me a fool or my actions as foolish. He states that he believes you but then does not accept what you say and he states things such as "my job is to get to the truth,no matter what you say or think".He sets his clients tasks that he commonly refers to as "homework" and states that completing these is of vital importance to the entire case.He then never mentiones these again and when asked about this he denies ever having received the completed task and that despite him acknowledging the receipt of the email with attached completed task for his attention.
He does not actively listen to what I,his client stated to him and at times entirely missundersood me.He does not pay attention to to what clients express to him and instead almost entirely focused on key words. This led to many missunderstandings and clarifying these was a tedious and time consuming process for me,the client. Mathew also categorically and point blank refused at times to take and act up on my explicit instructions and instead became offensive and threatened with his withdrawal if I should not do as he wants me to and as he states.To make matters worse, during his threats he repeatedly threatened to take the appointed QC and the QC's junior barrister with him also, should he leave, knowing fine well of what significant importance these are in any case and what detremental impact such action would have on the case or any case.He eventually carried out his threats and left me without representatives immediately after a handing down of Judgement.This leaving me,his client utterly distressed and anxious as never before.Most disturbing is that he refused to write in statements that were served and presented before the court and all other parties his clients true wishes and feelings and accurate accounts of recollections but instead he convinced me to either a.entirely leave out utterly vital evidence or b. he would utterly change the wording of what I had stated and therefore also change the meaning entirely.This was then during cross examination stage and other times held against me and I was asked to explain myself as to what I said verbally before the court did not match my written accounts.
