Douglas kept us in the loop at all times so we were very happy. It’s still early days in our conveyancing journey but hopefully will all go as smoothly as it’s done so far.

Douglas has been excellent from first contact. He has been speedy in his responses and helped lay out information clearly for us to understand. Douglas prepared our itemised quote super quick and we never felt under pressure, just more impressed with the speed of service and the digital portal the company use for any documents needing completed/submitted. This has made us feel confident in using Gilson Gray for the process of buying and selling property.

Gilson Gray could probably work for some people who have a simple conveyancing job of say a new build with a first time buyer. I think you have to realise it's a call centre and most of the people are juniors learning their trade. I lost about 4 weeks waiting for my 'dedicated conveyancer' to return to work and had emails from at least 20 different people in the company about my case. Each time I replied I got the automated response with gives no confidence anyone is owning the issue. I complained but got put through to an answer machine and when I did get a call back from an assistant they just argued with me. Based on this I cannot recommend this company.

Only a week into our property conveyancing. Received a few emails from Douglas Hardwick providing instruction. Very efficient online process of submitting money laundering prevention identification information. Hopefully the rest of the process is as efficient.

Used Gilson Gray when moving home. Clear advice and good response time when making offers. Would recommend and would use again.

Gilson Grey managed both the sale of our old property and the purchase of our new property it was great having both under the same roof.They kept us informed about everthing both through the online portal and personal telephone calls, they were always avaiable to answer any questions wether trivial or not. Gilson Gray (Kerrie) did an excellent job conveyancing our house, the initial online element proved to be efficient & when it was time to complete Kerrie was in contact with us on a daily basis.

Gilson Gray met our expectations, providing efficient and timely service. The online portal seemed annoying as we had to source and find the documents. However after this stage our conveying assistant Ellie took over and was absolutely fantastic!

I would give a 0 review if I could I would give a 0 review if I could. My experience with Gilson Gray has been the worst five months of my life. Initially, we were assigned Rahilla Hussain as our conveyancer, but her incompetence and unprofessionalism led her to “sack us” after I shared some home truths about her performance. She even blocked me, which was utterly unprofessional. After Rahilla, Anthony Robinson took over, and while he was an improvement, his communication was still lacking as the months dragged on. I lodged a complaint following their policy, but no one responded. Frustrated, I emailed every contact I could find online and eventually received a reply from Sam Burrows, who was appointed to investigate my complaint. During our initial phone call, she acknowledged the failings in communication and the issues with their portal, which lost our data three times. We ultimately had to resort to emailing our information directly. The dates for completion were exchanged five times, eventually settling on a date two months later than originally planned. While some delays were not the firm’s fault, their inability to chase up and resolve issues was appalling. Sam promised a formal reply to my complaint on the 7th of October, but it never arrived. I followed up on the 21st of November, only to be ignored, as is common with their staff. This situation has now been escalated to the legal ombudsman, as Gilson Gray needs a serious shake-up. They are causing immense stress and fear for clients worried about losing their properties. Even our estate agents have lodged complaints, which I believe have reached the CEO of the Guild. Move day was chaotic, with conveyancers in the chain failing to coordinate, resulting in an administrative error that left six buyers without homes on completion day. Gilson Gray also delayed paying us funds due for three days, and two weeks after completion, they still had not settled their fees with our estate agents. In summary, communication is non-existent unless they want money, they are unprofessional, and they repeatedly lose data while requesting the same information. Shocking! DO NOT USE THIS FIRM!”
