Poor throughout

We usually use another solicitor and have to say the service on this occasion was woeful compared to past experience. Poor communication, 6 months to complete on a deceased estate from cash buyers, broken promises, the list goes on. Given the service we received I feel that the charge for the service was significantly more than the value and expertise provided. Would not use this solicitor again.

Very poor service

We bought our property on 22 Sept, a deceased estate and we were cash buyers, with no chain. We completed the purchase on 7 March, almost 6 months later. We have continually experienced false promises on when activities would be completed, been asked for information twice regularly and last minute requests. We have used G&S before and always had good service but would not use again if this was the solicitor we were stuck with. I appreciate that things are not always straight forward but 6 months to complete on an empty house when you are a cash buyer is ridiculous, especially when you are hoping for a quick process.

You are a local Firm

You are a local firm who supported with my parents estate, so I felt confident in approaching you for my needs.

I felt heard and respected the process was clearly explained with space given for my questions and clarification.

The meeting place in the office that was most suited to me for which I am grateful.

Sale of apartment

Unfortunately, deaths within the family meant this sale was delayed and perhaps more complicated than it could have been. The people I've been in contact with at Gould and Swayne have been friendly and attentive (special mention to the lovely receptionist at the Street branch - sorry for not knowing your name!) and made it as smooth as it could be, I think.
It hasn't been an easy time and I'm still not sure I understand everything about the strange lease agreement my parents had signed but this certainly isn't your fault and in comparison to all the other charges involved, you have definitely been good value for money - Thank you

Requested review by solicitor on completion

Very difficult as had mixed experience. I would have liked direct contact with the solicitor in the beginning of the transaction.. I felt quite unimportant as a client.. she was an invisible entity but her assistant was really helpful.. and then solicitor helped too.
I feel special mention must be made of the Accounts gentleman in Glastonbury who went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out with bank issues. He, LITERALLY, stopped me from falling apart. Thank you.

First Time Buyer!

I dont even know where to start about how wonderful this company is! People always blame the solicitors whn things go wrong with home purchases, but considering the trials we have faced with not 1 but 2 different (almost) purchases in the last 6 months!! With the most recent (and successful) purchase i think we put the offer in at the end of October and we have now exchanged and complete Friday 1st December- super quick and efficient! Hollie is a dream of a solicitor!! And Jackie and Jade have been amazing as well! Even though i had a million ridiculous questions nothing was ever too much! 100% recommend this solictor firm for house purchases!

I work for a housing developer and we use Gould and Swayne for all our transactions (both industrial and residential). They have always offered an exceptional service. Jason Legg in particular is one of the most conscientious Solicitors you could instruct although all the staff are very helpful. I would definitely recommend them 100%.

I have had many dealings with Gould & Swyane (Wells), usually for conveyancing and commercial leases. I have mostly corresponded with Jason Legg and Gian Floris. Both are knowledgeable and have dealt with matters in a very efficient and timely manner. I find their pricing competitive and will continue to use Gould & Swayne in the future as we have built up a great business relationship.

We used Gould & Swayne for selling/buying and cannot fault Hollie and Jackie for being so efficient and helpful. Considering this was during the peak of the covid busy period and having to wait for probate, we were kept in the loop at all times and had responses to any questions in a timely manner. I would 100% recommend Hollie and the team to anyone looking to sell/buy as they made the process easy and as stress free as possible.

I had a consult with Nicole Power yesterday concerning working through probate. Nicole went above and beyond to answer any questions I had, printed off some forms that would be useful and was extremely transparent in the services she could offer. What a great experience and she is someone who obviously loves what she does!

As a single, first time buyer I was nervous and apprehensive towards buying my first house. I cannot fault my solicitor Hollie Burns. She was absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to make this experience very easy. Any questions or queries I had about any part of the process Hollie was able to answer them. I have since recommended her to many of my friends who have said exactly the same. If I need a solicitor again I know exactly who I’ll be going with. Thank you for everything Hollie!
