Business Sale

Richard was most efficient from our initial introductory meeting through to completion. He was never shy of telling us the reality and providing a calming influence during, what at times seemed, a fairly brutal process. he always seemed to have a firm hand on the rudder.

New Will & LPA

Searched online for a recommended firm of solicitors in my area and Heringtons was top.

My wife and I had new wills prepared, EPAs revoked and new LPAs completed.

We were dealt with throughout by Lucinda Smith who was very pleasant, knowledgeable and gave excellent advice. I would use this firm again for future needs based on this overall first class experience.

Will & LPA Preparation

Both my wife and I were dealt with by Lucinda Smith for writing new wills and initiating LPAs for each. Lucinda was very personable and offered excellent advice and ensured we understood the detail of the Wills and LPAs before we agreed and signed the documents. This was all done in a very timely manner. I am happy to recommend her to others.

Heringtons have handled two probate matters for me in the last two years. Their approach in both cases was thourough, well set-out from the start and well followed-through in execution. It can seem (and is) a slow process, but I felt I was updatated regularly and any issues I raised were dealt with promptly.

Whilst trying to grieve for my mother this solicitors demanded documents that were unnecessary which prolonged the whole process. They did not seem to understand the process and had to constantly consult with another colleague. I would not recommend this solicitors

Disgusted with this firm, my mother and father went to them to get a mirror will done, my father cancelled verbally within the 14day cooling off period, Solicitor Stephen Hewitt phoned my mother a week later to inform her that my father had cancelled and that he was unable to act for them. Since then my father started acting more and more peculiar and ended up being sectioned under the metal health act. We have been informed today that my father has unfortunately been diagnosed with severe dementia and yet this firm are still trying to charge my mother £300 for a will that has not been done.
I would avoid this Solicitors like the plague. They have shown no compassion.
I have just had the unfortunate pleasure of speaking with Stephen the Solicitor who was quite frankly rude and clearly just wanted the £300 pounds.
We look forward to putting our case forward in court.

About this branch

Description

We’ve been serving the people of East Sussex for around 250 years and can trace our history back to the firms of Raper & Fovargue in Battle and Dawes Son & Prentice in Rye in the mid 18th Century. There has been a lot of change and growth since then but we are still firmly rooted in the local community, combining legal excellence with a highly personalised service – for local people and businesses. Although constantly improving our use of technology to provide the most effective legal service, we still take the time and care to build one-to-one relationships with clients - a traditional way of working that’s fast disappearing in many law firms. As a client, you will usually work with the same lawyer and legal secretary throughout each engagement. There are some exceptions, such as in matters where you may need more than one specialist but, in most cases, you will have the dedicated support of the same well-qualified and experienced lawyer. We are accredited with the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) so you know that when you instruct us on a residential conveyancing matter, you are in safe hands. Whatever your legal need, whether personal or business, we look forward to helping you.
