Sale of my house

They have been responsible for the sale of my house for over 3 months and made virtually no progress. I have had to deal with 2 solicitors, Lakitha Arachchi and Nadith Gunawardena. Neither answer the phone and never get back to me after l have left voicemail. The main office number is no better, I have managed to speak to somebody on the odd occasion who has always told me that my message will be passed on and the solicitor concerned will get back to me. It never happens. It's exactly the same with emails, they completely ignore them. I engaged Hodders Law through Conveyancing Index and I paid £150 up front to start the process. I have also tried to start a complaints procedure with them, again nothing happens. My latest call to their office was answered by a young man who said his name was Jeremiah and he immediately told me that I would be phoning me back after 16.15 and then straight away transferred me to an extension which just rang out. I phoned back after 10 minutes as I was very suspicious how he could tell me that I would be receiving a call back so quickly and was told very abruptly that he could not do anymore for me as he was just working in a call centre and was nothing to do with Hodders Law, he then hung up. The number I had phoned was the main office of Hodders Law and when answered was told by pre recorded message that it was Hodders Law and all conversations would be recorded.

Very frustrating to deal with - slow and unresponsive

Can never get hold of Aruni on the phone and she never calls back. Email updates are vague and she never answers my questions. Very frustrating company to deal with. If you're trying to sell your property on deadline, use someone else

Horrendous

I appointed Martin Smith & Co to carry out Probate for my Late Fathers Estate. They did a terrible job. I gave the file to another Solicitor to review and HMRC agreed that the figures Martin Smith & Co submitted were wrong - HMRC gave me a £20,000 refund for overpaid tax. But it has cost me dearly. I have now issued proceedings against Martin Smith & Co.
