I was prosecuted for driving without insurance for eleven months which wasn’t my fault as my insurance company didn’t notify me that I had to confirm my renewal price this year due to covid related issues as it normally renews. I was told I would be facing 8 points on my license but when I read online it said 6 points. Either way I already had 6 points at the time so I was facing a certain ban!!


After speaking to Darrell he assured me this was the insurance fault as I hadn’t signed an agreement to state the renewal would need confirming based on the fact I had the same insurance company for 4 years. I was advised to be represented in court and argue this out and Martin my barrister did a fantastic job and pointed the finger at my insurance for their flaws. The judge agreed this was a mistake but due to covid we were all under certain pressures. Thankfully I left the court with 0 points and no ban.

The price you pay is not cheap but you are paying for a professional service and you don’t want to go into the court room as a weak target. Thank you to all the team at Around the Law, I was looking at a suspected drink driving offence ban. I was referred to Around the Law by a friend who was previously successful with his case and avoided a ban due to police flaws. A driving ban would have ruined my career, criminal record & home affairs. After speaking to a few solicitors they were sure I would be looking at the ban but after speaking to Darrell he assured me I had a great chance due to the lack of evidence and he said he wouldn’t have took the case on if he knew there wasn’t a chance of wining. After moving to the US I can look back at this chapter as a lesson learnt. I was born and raised in England UK and I’m so thankful I avoided a criminal record otherwise the USA would have revoked my travel visa!

My court appointment for a drink driving offence was dropped before my third hearing. Thank you to the girls and boys especially Darrell and I think she is called Mckenzie.

The police didn’t issue me the correct forms at the police station. MCBD or something like that. Anyhow, incorrect procedure led to inadequate evidence.

Overall I spent £2200 and I was awarded a refund of costs as I won which means I should be able to retrieve my money but I’m currently going through this process

I never leave reviews but on this occasion I really do feel like I have too. Around the Law was my second choice when seeking help with my speeding offence. As a business owner I was hesitant as of how to proceed, the first lawyers whom I will not mention was recommended from a business partner. But they were incredibly slow and never updated me. So, I changed over to around the law and the difference was clear. I won’t go into detail about my case but my speeding charges was dropped in court which has help keep my business afloat. I am writing this review on behalf of my sister who used this solicitor firm with her drug driving case. She had been around friends who was smoking cannabis the bay before and the police pulled her over for a tail light. They drug tested her and she was positive for THC. Darrell and Sophie managed the case and won on the grounds of unknown passive smoking. The whole police report was ridiculous, how low their legal limit is just . But I’m glad she wasn’t charged with the offence as she would have lost her job.
