Excellent service

From the first time I met Stephanie with my daughters about getting divorced I knew I had picked the right Solicitor. She was understanding of my situation, asked lots of questions but most importantly she listened to my answers. She made me feel heard and had guided me through one of the most difficult times of my life with excellent advice, patience and professionalism. I can't thank her enough.

Initial divorce advice

Gail was very quick on the uptake, and gave me time to absorb the advice and calculations she laid out. The subsequent confirmation summary was very complete, with only a few minor corrections needed if we go forward; hardly surprising considering the amount of 'detail' I had to give!
I'm much more informed about the process and the court's approach.

(1. Feel free to quote the above. 2. Looking at the next survey box, perhaps for balance, there should be opposites available too ( not that any were needed ).

An outstanding divorce solicitor

Stephanie has turned a very difficult divorce into an empowering experience for me.

Stephanie is very professional, yet friendly and caring. Her advice was grounding and instilled trust and confidence. I felt respected and supported throughout the whole process. Stephanie always kept me updated, explained ever step clearly and was reassuring when needed. I felt that she always had my best interest at heart.

Having her represent me in court gave me confidence and helped me navigate the very stressful and difficult experience with grace. Stephanie helped me negotiate the settlement, which was in my favour and higher than I expected.

A heartfelt 'thank you' to Stephanie for all her hard work and support. I would not be where I am today (a home owner) if it was not for her help. Do not look elsewhere. It is a worthwhile investment.

Unsatisfactory

Awful experience. Considering she is purported to have domestic abuse experience she questioned my experience and lacked empathy. I was charged unnecessarily for certain things but did not have the capacity to argue it at the time. She spoke to and treated me so badly that I dreaded her calls but I was so vulnerable at the time and felt so deep in and concerned about the money spent that I persevered. I would not recommend her to domestic abuse related cases. I did not feel that she was working in my best interest because of how she spoke to and treated me. She gave me incorrect advice in the presence of a domestic abuse support worker and then later denied it, that incorrect advice cost me dearly in my case. In the end I did not trust anything she said. There were restraining orders in place to protect us but she said I could not claim anything against the fact that I was made to pay so much more due to no fault of my own, which I don't believe. The only positive was she encouraged a court order and she was efficient at the negotiating but I do wish I had gone elsewhere.

Awful Service from BISCOES

My experience with Biscoes (Franca Webb), was traumatic as I didn't feel any support what so ever, and I felt she was actually against me. In particular, anything that arrived from my ex-husbands side, she would believe and I wasn't given the chance clarify or give my version of events as she wouldn't let me speak when over the phone. I was upset and frustrated over the whole divorce proceedings and I understand the fact that, she started acting on my divorce right at the end (which is not my fault), and I felt that she didn't want to make any effort to gain a better deal on my behalf. Many times I was left in tears, as I didn't have any support from the person defending me. I tried a face-face consultation (which I feel more comfortable with), however, she turned me down and said that her availability over the phone was better.

Chance phonecall found me the Best Divorce Solicitor possible

On receiving the news whilst in Prison that my wife of 32 years had decided not to support me, and would divorce me instead, i got a number for a Solicitors Office, at random, and made a call when the prison authorities allowed me. By chance Gail Strange picked up that call, and as they say, the rest in history. Fully supportive, not only through the divorce, but helping my POCA Solicitor, and my conveyancing Solicitor for my new house, she has been a steady rock of support through turbulent times. Her sage advice, timely interventions, procrastination at the right times, and downright dogged support for me, her client, was a breath of fresh air to someone going through the most awful time of their lives. She has a superb supporting cast, of Mandy, her gatekeeper and assistant, and the office staff, who all combined to help me through the trials and tribulations.

Excellent Service

I used Biscoes for moving house with Sam & Jess who were both superb.
Extremely friendly, efficient & helpful with all my questions & queries, and processing searches etc.
Kept me in the loop continuously so I knew exactly how things were progressing throughout the entire process.

They made a normally complicated & stressful process very smooth, would definitely recommend!

Excellent service

Marissa Purnell and Olivia Green dealt with the sale of our property in Portsmouth. What should have been a straightforward transaction turned out to be a long protracted one owing to the purchaser changing the terms of the purchase, and his solicitor not answering calls or replying to emails.
Both Marissa and Olivia were both professional and tenacious in dealing with this matter and eventually getting it over the line.
I would not hesitate in recommending either of them to a person looking for a solicitor to deal with the sale of their property.

Very corrupt solicitors. They have committed perjury in the courts a few years ago and are still failing to cover up their perjury. They have knowingly falsified legal aid claims to scam money out of the government and the taxpayer. Which is a common practise which all corrupt solicitors do. For this reason I give these solicitors -10.

About this branch

Description

Historically, the longserving Portsmouth based firms of Biscoe Smith, Heather and Bellinger, Cousins Burbidge & Connor and Lyndhurst Groves merged in 1994 to form Biscoes Cousins Groves. In 2004 in the Firm's 150th year, Biscoes absorbed Wilkinson & Co and merged with King and Franckeiss, both well respected local firms. Subsequently in 2005 a merger with Covers added a Petersfield office to an already impressive list of locations, which was closely followed by the opening of an office in Gosport. In 2006 a Portchester branch was created following the link up with the long established practice of Barry Swanton & Co. In 2018 Biscoes merged with Gurney Champion & Co & Heyes Saumuel in Ryde, Isle of Wight. Biscoes continues to move confidently into the 21st Century, whilst remaining steadfastly committed to the provision of a traditional and locally based legal service. Located in offices close to you. Emergency and home appointments are available in certain cases. We are here to help you with all your legal requirements and offer a comprehensive range of legal services. We pride ourselves in providing a professional approach in a friendly environment.
