I wouldn't use them again

Customer service almost non-existent. I regretted choosing this Firm from the very start. Updates on my case were only given after I had chased them to bring me up to date. The only emails I seemed to get without prompting were updates on the costs to date.
After keeping me hanging on for a year, they then informed me that my case had a less than 50% chance of succeeding and that they would no longer be acting for me on a Conditional Fee Agreement.
Fair enough that they didn’t think that I had a good chance of winning my claim in Court but, this must have been evident early on, So why mess me about for a year?
Unfortunately, I find myself unable to recommend this firm of solicitors and I would not use them again.

Injury claim

Terrible experience.
Take my advice and stay well away.
Will mess you about for years to then tell you they are closing the case.
They make you take out insurance so they get paid.
Terrible.

Avoid, look elsewhere.

After injuring myself in the gym i rang Scott and Rees and was told i had a good straight forward claim.
After providing all the evidence several times, they never answer the phone for an update, cut you off when you do get through.
They get you to fill out insurance forms so they get paid if you win or lose. Not Solicitors they are scamers.

Prejudice and not helpful

Genuinely worst solicitors. Wouldn't help me or support me, passed my case around multiple handlers and went on for 3 years for them to drop me due to lack of advice and support from themselves. Don't take mental health coneditions into consideration and will claim they haven't received your email if they don't want to deal with it

Not there for customers

It took over five months and a lot of pressure from myself, estate agents and the buyers’ solicitor to get Scott Rees to complete a simple conveyancing in which there was no chain. During most of the last month there seemed to be no-one in the company who had any idea what was going on.

That’s not the worst part. Over two months after completion, Scott Rees informed me there was a problem with the sale. The management company had refused to register the new owner because of a legal dispute I’d had with them. Scott Rees then said they could represent me in the dispute for an initial fee of £2000, if I wished. Surprised by their apparent ignorance of an issue covered in the leaseholder information form I had completed for them, I asked where my liability was since I had been entirely honest and fully forthcoming with Scott Rees who acted as my legal representative throughout. For some reason, Scott Rees’s “Compliance Officer” declined to answer my question. As I expected, over a year later there has been no legal follow-up from buyer or management company – which disappoints me as I would like to see whether Scott Rees would treat a judge with the same silent disdain as it treated me, its customer.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Been dealing with scott rees for a years now to finally get a settlement. Got a phone call with my offer, which i silly enough agreed to as i believed that was the amount i would get. I then received less then 60% of the amount i agreed to due to hidden fees! My emails and calls were all ignored and are still being ignored to this day after 2 weeks!! I highly DO NOT RECCOMEND.

Absolute joke

What an absolute joke of a business, one star is too many, constantly chasing for progress with no feedback, Adnan was handling my case. There are plenty more Solicitors out there. AVOID

Legal Ombudsman upheld complaint

It's a shame I even had to give this company one star. I used them on the conveyancing for the purchase of my property and the experience was atrocious from start to finish – and afterwards if you can believe that. Even my mortgage broker who recommended them filed a formal complaint.

I contacted the Legal Ombudsman after Timothy Allen, their supposed complaints person, failed to respond to my formal complaint. The ombudsman awarded in my favour and Scott Rees has agreed to pay compensation, even after sending me a letter claiming they had done nothing wrong.

And then, when they called for my bank details, they asked me "now that we've paid you" to remove the review I left on Trust Pilot. You couldn't make it up.

Do not use these charlatans. Believe me, you will regret it.
