Rude and appalling service from solicitor.

Personally, I would not go near this firm, especially during a sensitive time of losing a loved one. The solicitor was unprofessional and completely humiliated my elderly mother at a very sad time. Fortunately, we were there to witness her incompetence and rudeness! The upside is, we have since found a really nice, professional law firm who have the necessary skills and knowledge in this area, as well as being friendly, kind and empathetic.

Amazing, excellent, from start to finish

I was lucky to have Shirley as my solicitor as I dealt with a complicated issue that arose during my house sale, her advice and support was always excellent, she always showed patience, was friendly and professional.
Shirley also helped me with the purchase of my next house which fell through due to the owners misrepresentation, at this time her advice was excellent and it was only that she represented the house I did end up buying that I did not use her services in this.
I would definitely recommend Shirley and her team for any aspect of house sale and purchases, excellent service 100% recommend.

5+ year and STILL waiting for MH to finalise late Aunties Will

On Boxing Day 2017 our late Auntie sadly passed away. Here we are at the start of 2023 and Maxwell Hodge have yet to finalise her Last Will and Testament. Our case has been passed between 3 internal solicitors spread across 3 branches (first with this branch in Heswall, then to Huyton and then on to West Kirby).

Over 5 years, Maxwell Hodge have shown unimaginable levels of incompetence, an inability to keep us accurately updated on progress and a complete lack of urgency in bringing this matter to a close. It pains me that the lowest rating I can give is 1 star (a zero would be more suitable). Based on the service we have received, I would NEVER recommend this firm to anyone. They have made a right Maxwell Hodge-podge of our case, don't give them the chance to do it to yours.

Never again Maxwell and Hodge Limited

Where to start - It took me a long time to write that review, cause I refused to pay the open amount they want to charge me ( around 500) .
In the beginning it all looked very good and professional, I used the firm because of my divorce.
I got told that my case is no problem , specially as the children with me and my wife left and was not paying any child support , and that we will put this and this against what she was asking for .

But a lot of things have been not true or other important facts have not being taken in account, for the final hearing I defended myself, because I lost the trust in the lawyer.
Even the judge then ask me then, why some papers handed in from my lawyer have not been signed the right way and cant be accepted. ( something every lawyer should know the Judge replied)
Very disappointing, I was client of the the family lawyer in Liverpool office .
I tried to ask them to let me off the final bill, because of so much information I got told, was not right as it was shown in the final hearing . Even in the hearing before when I was still with the firm, not the lawyer from Liverpool came, but my case was given to a barrister, who 10 Minutes before the hearing ask me, about things he should have known.I had to go with him through my file and saw on the questions he ask , he had no idea about my case . He was not prepared.
I did not feel like a valued client, I felt more like a number with different invoices to pay.
After years of struggling, trying to ask them to let my off the final 500 GBP because of the service they provided who was not good. I decided now to pay the rest, cause only a court hearing would have given me any possibility, but I have enough. If possible I would not have given any star for my experience with this company, I can only speak about my experience with the office in Liverpool and the family lawyer there . If my lawyer would have informed me about some important facts, I learned in court from the judge, the outcome for me would ave been so different. And I would have saved a lot of money emotional and financial pain. Never again Maxwell and Hodge
