I have used these Solicitors and it was extremely disappointing.
The matter was a simple and straightforward housing matter.
I briefed them for one hour and followed-up forwarding e-mails and pictures. Their first draft Claim letter was practically just nine bullet points. They had managed to mix-up the most important facts of this case (not good for a Solicitor!). Being a legal professional myself, I sent a heavily commented version of the draft back to them - pointing our the very important facts they had gotten wrong. Apart from that, there was no drafting effort, everybody able to read and write could have put nine bullet-points together like they did (including the mistakes). There was no logical order whatsoever (e.g. like starting with the major points etc.).
After had I sent back my comments on the first draft I received a second draft of the letter - still some major facts wrong, still only nine bullet points. So not much had changed (just for fun I ran a redline between the two versions and not much had changed).
I then proceeded to correcting the letter myself and adding language that actually turned it into a letter. Meaning I prepared the letter myself and provided them with it.
They then used my version of the letter but when they sent it out, they did so with a date more than a week old. No Attention to Detail.
At that point I had completely lost my trust in them as it was apparent that I am doing their work for them.
It was obvious that all their work effort went into their Client Service Letter (which was actually drafted okay) but no work actually went into my matter (with the results mentioned).
I asked them one legal question and the response I got was "Your landlord could say that….". That is not a legal assessment if they don't even proceed to assess if my landlord would be successful with what he "could say". That is the type of response I'd expect from a legal layman.
Disappointing for everybody who would have trusted them with this case (in particular if they depended on the Solicitor's good work), shocking for me being a legal professional myself.
I submitted an e-mail complaint and was asked to send it again in a signed letter. I am doing this now, so want to note that their ultimate response is still outstanding.
