DO NOT USE THESE SOLICITORS

We made an awful mistake choosing Ewan & Co solicitors so I am writing this in the hope that you DO NOT do the same. They were rude, unprofessional and made a huge list of errors. They were unresponsive and slow to react to any instructions if at all and they were the cause of huge delays resulting in the matter taking a lot longer to resolve than it should have. They also lied on multiple occasions which was challenged but never explained. They did of course charge me for this appalling service which was more than twice the initial estimate. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!!

Absolutely awful, they made so many mistakes throughout the process, including with the documentation. Not responsive and not upfront about fees/process. They tried to double charge fees, I had to double check everything they did. Do not hire them.

Bad experience with these solicitors. They made numerous errors during the conveyancing process. I counted over 10 errors made with one statement. They couldn't apply VAT to the correct items or calculate the correct stamp duty.
Matthew went on holiday half way through the process and left the job to his secretary without informing us. Would not use them again or recommend to anynone else.

Expensive too!

Incompetence and overcharging

Solicitor is not registered with high street lenders and uses third parties, the cost of which is later passed on to the client, without prior knowledge or consent. Multiple errors relating to stamp duty calculations, outright negligence and avoidance of responsibility on important contract issues. Final bill at 3x quotation with no explanation. Wrong bill sent to the client over three times without a single apology.
