  • Harbinder Gosal

    Harbinder obtained a 2:1 (Hons) LLB Law Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1995, before completing her Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School in 1996. Harbinder began her training contract at a small firm based in Manchester and qualified as a Solicitor in 1999. Upon qualification Harbinder worked in Manchester, Redditch and returned to the West Midlands in 2010 to join QualitySolicitors Davisons as Partner and Head of the Family Team. Harbinder joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Senior Associate in the Family Department in 2016. Harbinder deals with all aspects of Family and Child Law, specialising in privately funded Divorce and Matrimonial Finance cases. Harbinder also has experience in dealing with domestic violence and Child Law matters within our Family team in Wolverhampton.

  • Dawn Owen

    Dawn was educated locally at Tividale Comprehensive, now known as Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy, where she completed her GCSE’s.   • Tim Gray

    Tim was educated at Queen Mary’s Grammar School in Walsall and obtained an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 1983. Tim completed his law exams at Chester Law School in 1984 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1989. He completed his training contract at Enoch Evans in Walsall before moving to Cartwright and Lewis in Birmingham where he developed an interest in personal injury and medical negligence work. Tim joined fbc Solicitors as a Solicitor in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Department in 1994 and became a Partner in 1997. Tim is an accomplished and very experienced personal injury and clinical negligence lawyer, having specialised in this field for over 20 years. Tim is the Lead Partner within the Department and heads up the Firm’s Clinical Negligence Team, in addition to managing other high value and complex multi track cases, often involving head and spinal injuries and cases of amputation. Tim has secured several substantial claims for seriously injured claimants during recent years and is experienced in successfully dealing with the often difficult challenges that arise during the claims process including the recovery of damages for care and the provision of statutory care services, and negotiating and seeking approval of orders for periodical payments.

  • Julie Burn

    Julie obtained an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Wales in Cardiff in 1978 before completing her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester in 1979. Julie qualified as a Solicitor in 1981 and joined Manby & Steward in the same year as an Assistant Solicitor in the Bridgnorth Office. Julie became a Partner in the Private Client Team in 1986 and is the Lead Partner of the Wills, Probate & Lifetime Planning Team across the West Midlands and Shropshire. Julie specialises in Court of Protection work where she is able to act as a Professional Deputy, making decisions for individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves, usually as a result of illness or injury. Julie is dedicated to her clients' long term welfare, always acting with their best interests in mind and because of this is highly regarded and reputed for her work in this area.

  • Kim Carr

    Kim obtained a LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Birmingham in 1982, before completing the Law Society Finals at the College of Law in Guildford in 1983. Kim joined the Firm as a Trainee Solicitor and qualified as a Solicitor in 1986, became a Partner in 1989 and was appointed Managing Partner in 2005. Alongside Partner Craig Ridge, Marketing Manager Laura Jones and Sales Director Neil Lloyd, Kim is a member of the Firm's Strategic Management Board, responsible for spearheading the Firm's future development. Kim's leadership skills and people focus has been integral to the Firm's continued growth and success in the Times Best Companies Survey over the last 4 years. Kim was awarded the LawNet Managing Partner of the Year Award in 2012, which recognised her outstanding performance and leadership. In 2015 Kim was appointed Chair of LawNet and is the first woman to hold the role in the network’s 26 year history.

  • Stuart Rea

    Stuart obtained an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of the West of England in 1986. Stuart qualified as a Solicitor in 1989 after completing his training in London. After qualification, Stuart spent 4 years teaching in Japan before returning to the UK and joining Manby & Steward in 1994. Stuart was made a Partner in 1999. Stuart heads up the Firm’s Corporate Team in Shropshire and provides corporate and commercial services for large and small businesses in the Shropshire area. Stuart has applied his wider commercial experience to his knowledge of intellectual property (IP) and is also Head of the Firm's Intellectual Property, Technology and Media Law Group advising on a range of IP, IT and Media matters.   • Sarah Baugh

    Sarah obtained her Law and French Degree the University of Birmingham in 1994 before completing the Legal Practice Course in 1995, achieving Distinction. Sarah began her training contract at leading Midlands Firm Martineau and qualified as a Solicitor in 1997 before joining Gwynnes (later to become mfg Solicitors) in 2004. Sarah joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Partner in 2012 and now heads up the Agricultural & Rural Services Team. Sarah specialises in all aspects of property based agricultural and landed estate work. She provides clients with a detailed knowledge and understanding of matters arising in the acquisition and disposal of freehold land as well as agricultural, residential or business leasehold matters with particular emphasis on Agricultural Holding Act tenancies, estate management, refinancing, subsidy advice and agri-environmental schemes. Sarah has built her reputation acting as legal adviser to some of the largest landed estates across the Midlands and into Wales as well as multi generational family farmers in reorganising their farming business structures and partnerships. Sarah is President of the Staffordshire Committee of the Country Landowner and Business Association (CLA) and has recently completed a five year term on the CLA’s National Legal, Parliamentary and Property Rights Sub Committee.

  • Brian Aikman

    Brian graduated from Birmingham University with a LLB Law Degree in 1979. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1982 after completing his training contract at Wragge & Co in Birmingham. Brian joined the Firm as a Partner in the Litigation Department in 2004. Based in Shrewsbury, Brian heads up the Shropshire Commercial Litigation Team and specialises in insolvency, shareholder disputes, dispute resolution and property litigation. He has gained a particular reputation in the field of contentious corporate recovery work. In addition Brian’s Shropshire Team provides litigation support to the Firm’s Agricultural & Rural Department, working for local agricultural businesses and estate clients.

  • David Raymont

    David commenced his training as a Legal Executive in the Residential Property Department of a local law firm before joining Manby & Steward LLP. David qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 1999 and was appointed an Associate within the Commercial Property Department in 2003. David deals with a wide variety of commercial property matters from the lease of industrial units, shops and offices to commercial and residential development schemes (both freehold and leasehold), licences to assign and sublet, option agreements, security documentation including acting for Banks, overage agreements and grant of easements. David handles the property work for a large Diocese and as a key member of the Firm’s Charities and Not-For-Profit Team he regularly acts for charitable organisations in relation to their property matters. David also specialises in advising private owners of investment portfolios, helping them buy, sell and lease their property investments.

  • Christopher Hodgson

    Christopher obtained a 2:2 (Hons) LLB Law Degree at the University of Lincoln in 2010 and joined the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) the same year. Christopher is due to complete his final examinations with CILEx in 2018 where he will obtain a fellowship status from the Institute. In 2012 he joined a national firm in Lincolnshire before moving to Hatchers Solicitors in 2013 as a Property Executive. In September 2017, Christopher joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Conveyancing Executive in the Firm’s Residential Property Department. Christopher deals with a vast array of Residential Property matters including general sales and purchases, new build transactions, lease extensions and enfranchisement, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, shared ownership transactions including staircasing and first registrations.

  • Lucy Beaumont

    Lucy obtained a 2:1 (Hons) LLB Law Degree at Keel University in 2013 and joined MFG Solicitors as a Paralegal within the Residential Conveyancing Department whilst training to become a Licensed Conveyancer. She qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in August 2016. In Winter 2017, Lucy joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Licensed Conveyancer in the Residential Property Team. Lucy deals with all residential property cases including sales and purchases, remortgages, transfer of equity, lifetime mortgages and new build properties.

  • Steven Corfield

    Steven studied law at University College in Cardiff, graduating with an LLB (Hons) Degree in 1978, before completing the Law Society Finals at the College of Law in Chester in 1979. Steven trained at Baker Flavell & Trafford in Willenhall, qualifying as a Solicitor in 1981. Steven joined Manby & Steward LLP as a Senior Solicitor in the Commercial Property Department in 1988 and became Partner and Head of the Firm’s Agricultural & Rural Services Department in 1994. Most recently in 2017 Steven became the Firm's Agricultural Business Principal Development Partner. Steven specialises in providing advice to farming and estate clients in respect of freehold and leasehold matters, tenancies, partnership agreements, company matters, mineral rights, sporting rights, telecommunications and renewables and all matters associated with rural businesses including statutory legislation and the Environment Agency. Steven sits on both the Shropshire and National and Parliamentary Committees of the Country Land & Business Association (CLA). In 2015 and 2016 Steven was the only lawyer in the West Midlands including Shropshire, to be named on the 'elite lawyers' list in leading legal directory, the Legal 500, for his work in the agricultural sector. In addition he was listed as a 'notable practitioner' in Chambers 2016, again recognised for his expertise and reputation amongst farming clients and agricultural professionals.

  • Philip Cowell

    Following completion of his Law Degree, Phil went on to continue his legal studies at Chester Law School in 1988 before qualifying as a Solicitor in 1991. Philip joined the Firm as a Solicitor in the Family Department in 1997 and became a Partner in 2004. Phil specialises in divorce and other family matters and has particular expertise in dealing with the financial aspect of the breakdown of relationships, including high value financial settlements involving complex business assets and farming cases. Phil is a Collaborative Family Lawyer and encourages his clients to resolve their disputes in a non-confrontational way, to reduce the stress of a difficult situation. Phil is also a key member of the Firm’s Disputed Probate Team and has a keen interest and expertise in claims made for financial provision out of a deceased's estates and probate disputes.

Samantha joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Paralegal in 2013, commenced her training contract in 2015 and qualified as a Solicitor in the Wills, Probate & Lifetime Planning Department in September 2017.   • Andrew Vernon

    Andrew obtained his LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 1985, before completing the solicitor's finals exams in 1986. Andrew was an Articled Clerk at Vernon & Shakespeare in Oldbury and qualified as a Solicitor in 1988. Andrew joined the Firm as an Assistant Solicitor in the Wills, Probate & Lifetime Planning Department in 1989 and became a Partner in 2002.
