Rest assured, ReviewSolicitors are GDPR compliant.

On 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation came into force across the EU increasing the requirements on data controllers to ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data they collect and process.  All businesses must demonstrate that they are fully compliant with the 6 data protection principles, to handle personal data fairly and transparently whilst ensuring that data subjects can access the full range of rights now available to them.

At ReviewSolicitors, we appreciate that unlike many other businesses, solicitors in the UK are bound by additional and more restrictive data protection and client confidentiality requirements.  These are specific issues that other, more general review collection websites aren’t equipped to cater to.

Pete Storey, CTO, designed the process so that ReviewSolicitors does not request, require, or store any confidential client data as part of the review process. We have confirmed that the process we follow meets GDPR requirements both with the ICO and Amy Bell Compliance - a specialist in GDPR for law firms.

Most importantly, when passing this data to ReviewSolicitors, you do so using our secure website.  You can upload the data or easily integrate your case management system with our secure API. In order to completely protect the data you supply us with, we immediately encrypt this data. Next, we queue the review requests to be sent to clients.  Following that, we generate an individual encryption key for each and every client, and this is supplied to them as part of the link in the contact email. As a law firm, it’s important that your clients know that you use us to send these review requests out. We can help you communicate this to your clients, ensuring that the full process is open and transparent at all times.

Our cleverly designed process means that neither ReviewSolicitors, nor anyone else, has access to your client contact data until after the client has confirmed their wish to leave a review.  This ensures your compliance with data protection, client confidentiality, privacy requirements, and means the client is in control of their data – not a third party review platform.

At ReviewSolicitors, we achieve an average 20% – 25% conversion rate on review requests for our member firms. We hold no records for the remaining clients you request us to email.  This ensures that your client list remains confidential, as it should be.

To ensure that you fully meet all your legal requirements you should use ReviewSolicitors – the site that has been built specifically for the UK legal market.

We would be very happy to discuss any other questions you may have about privacy, security, and confidentiality.  To join the platform call us on 0333 577 0206 or email us at info@reviewsolicitors.com.
