How to challenge reviews on ReviewSolicitors

ReviewSolicitors is a platform that understands the nuances of collecting legal reviews. We are dedicated to ensuring that the platform hosts only useful, truthful and legitimate reviews. Positive or negative, ReviewSolicitors will only allow content from genuine clients of your law firm.

If you receive a review that you believe not to be a legitimate and honest opinion of a client of yours, we offer tools that allow you to challenge and remove such reviews.

This article explains how you can use these tools, which are built specifically for the legal market and are available to both Free and Premium members of our site.

Instantly remove defamatory reviews

Defamatory reviews

We understand that very occasionally, clients will go on to a review platform to vent their frustration, presenting their emotionally charged opinions as facts. What may have been initially an honest review will descend into something that crosses a threshold and becomes unhelpful to other users looking to read genuine reviews and experiences; subsequently, the review becomes defamatory.

This can sometimes happen in cases where the work provided by the solicitor is not at fault, but the client does not receive the outcome they were looking for and proceeds to leave an unjust review.

Unlike other review sites that do not understand legal services, we have a fair and transparent process for dealing with defamatory reviews.

Should you receive a defamatory review, you’re in control and can immediately suspend the review by logging into your ReviewSolicitors account. Our automated process allows you to complete a short form stating why you believe the review is defamatory.

Once the form is submitted, the review will be suspended from your profile for up to 14 days whilst we contact the poster of the review asking for them to confirm specific details such as their name, their address and whether they stand by the review, etc.

If the poster of the review does not fully engage with us, the review will remain removed, and the user will be blocked from leaving any further reviews. It is that simple.

Instantly remove reviews from non-clients

Non-client reviews

Where emotions are high, your client's opponents can become frustrated that they are losing or have lost a case. Performing well for your client can sometimes lead to the other side taking to review platforms to vent their frustrations and discredit your firm.

As a legal-specific review platform, this is something that we are well aware of, especially when it comes to litigation and family matters.

Reviews from parties on the other side of the matter are simply not helpful to those looking to learn more about your law firm. Unlike other review sites that do not understand legal services, our process is fair and transparent and takes into account the nature of legal services and how these are provided.

Should you receive a review from a non-client, you have the control and ability to immediately suspend the review by logging into your ReviewSolicitors account. Our automated process allows you to complete a short form stating why you believe the review is from a non-client.

Once the form is submitted, the review will be immediately suspended from your profile for up to 14 days whilst we contact the poster of the review asking for them to confirm that they were a client of the firm.

If the poster of the reviewer does not fully engage with us and does not provide us with proof that they were a client of your firm, the review will remain removed, and the user will be blocked from leaving any further reviews.

Non-family friendly/ Irrelevant reviews

Non-family friendly

As a legal-specific review platform, our policy is only to allow reviews from genuine clients that are reflective of their experience with your firm. If your firm receives a review that is irrelevant, you can report it to us through your ReviewSolicitors dashboard.

An example of a review that is irrelevant could be:

“They told me to move from their car park. I would give them 1-star.”

“They are all friends and didn’t represent me properly as my solicitor was talking to their solicitor outside of the court.”

“They would not take my case because I wouldn’t pay them £250 an hour.”

We will also not allow reviews that contain non-family friendly language or any language which attacks somebody for their beliefs, appearance, sexual orientation or race. Our system automatically picks up such language and prevents it from appearing on our site.

Sometimes, users can be clever and use numbers instead of letters to ‘get around’ our filters. If you spot an instance of this please tell us by clicking on the “report to admin” button in your ReviewSolicitors dashboard.

Our team will then look into this and should the review violate our policies, it will be removed and the user who left the review will be blocked from leaving further reviews.

Should you have any questions about how to use or access any of our tools, please feel free to get in contact with us via email at support@reviewsolicitors.com or call us on 0333 577 0206.
