Chrishmal Warnasuriya joined the firm recently as In House Counsel. He is an accomplished practitioner in the Superior Courts in Sri Lanka with over 23 years of experience, both here and internationally. He has proven results in several high-profile cases and was recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s top 10 outstanding young personalities. His services have been sought after by both State and top Corporates due to his multi-skilled approach in cost-effectively managing teams of professionals in complex legal issues; beyond the court-room, politically or even internationally. Reputed as an expert in “checking” governmental action and regulatory work with academic qualifications to match, his practice areas span a unique combination of Public & Commercial laws including Civil, Immigration, Housing, Family, IP and others. Since September last year he has also been called as Counsel to the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague, Netherlands and is the only national representing Sri Lanka before the Court. Chris retains a strong commitment to the attainment of social justice and democratic values and was recognized as a FUTURE LEADER by the US State Dept. with a IVLP Award (2014) and was nominated to Parliament in Sri Lanka at both previous elections.
