Since the person I originally dealt with (who was excellent) retired, Ms Radcliffe has provided an appaling service. There were periods of zero response from 4 months to the recent 11months. I've tried contacting her again and will continue each day for a while until she returns my call although thats not likely as she now works from home. So my only option seems to be to hire another solicitor. Needless to say I have taken the matter of her non service to the Ombudsman but this takes for ever to get anywhere.

I'll keep this short.
My father died. There was a complication with his Will that required various paperwork to be completed and sent to the Probate Office. It was so a savings account could be released to my mum, who needs access to the funds.
My mum is 77. It has been a very stressful situation for her.
Elizabeth told my mum in March at a meeting she would prepare the paperwork, they went through the details of what needed to be done, everyone was clear.
My mum was so relieved that when she walked out of the office she burst into tears.
It's now July. We have nothing from Elizabeth.
My mum managed to talk to her once when Elizabeth informed her she had been too busy working on projects for another solicitor; in a service business, that isn't an excuse or even vaguely acceptable.
Since then my mum has been totally ignored. When she calls she is told Elizabeth is in a meeting and can't be interrupted. My mum has emailed her on multiple occasions but Elizabeth has never even had the common courtesy to reply.
The receptionist has said she is not allowed to even go and get my mum's file and tell her what is in there.
Elizabeth has the original copy of my dad's will. We have a copy of course but many people including the probate office won't accept anything but the original.
We are now filing a complaint with the Law Society.
This is nothing short of disgusting. My mum is waking up at 4am worried she will not be able to access her money.
Its possible Elizabeth has actually sent the paperwork to the Probate office. We don't know that, and the face she is totally ignoring my mum is utterly disgusting and negligent.
I recommend you find someone else for your legal work.
