My expertise includes commercial sales and purchases, commercial leases and assignments licences to alterations, overage agreements, conditional contracts and option agreements, promotion agreements, deed of easements and residential lease extensions. I love the satisfaction that comes from helping others. When I meet someone with a legal problem that I have had the expertise to resolve, I find it very rewarding. Every day is different in this area of law, and the variety keeps me mentally engaged. In my spare time I like to travel and I enjoy photography, movies and socialising.

Don't give Birkett Long original documents: you'll never see them agai
In Feb 2022 I sent Daniel Clarke all my original documents for the purchase of an oyster laying on the bed of a river: he asked whether I wanted a drainage & water search! He clearly hadn't bothered to read the documents.
I asked him to proceed (without the search): in April 2022 after no progress (including no response to emails) I gave up & asked him to return my documents. He ignored that instruction & said he was still waiting for the seller. I repeated my instruction to stop work, which he ignored.
In March 2023, nearly a year after I told him to stop work, he said he hadn't heard from me for a while! I referred him to the previous emails & again requested return of my original documents. No response.
So after 14 months of no progress and 7 emails ignored, it looks as though there is no chance of getting my original documents back.
Another solicitor completed the sale in 2 months at less than half the cost.
