Diane is a Associate, Court of Protection Solicitor at CFG and works in our Court of Protection and private client department. Diane works closely with our head of Court of Protection to support vulnerable clients who have lost capacity. Diane believes getting to know each individual person is crucial to her role. She aims to understand each person and their family and what it is they need and want. Diane's role is to guide and assist these people in living as independently as possible, and she always does this with their best interests in mind. This can sometimes mean having difficult conversations with clients; however, Diane communicates clearly with them to help them to understand why certain decisions need to be made. It is important that clients trust Diane to act in their best interests and do what's right for them. Diane builds strong relationships with her clients and their families to ensure they can be open and honest with her at all times. Diane is compassionate and empathetic and strives to put herself in other people's shoes to understand what is going on. As well as providing support in our Court of Protection department, Diane also assists and advises about setting up Personal Injury Trusts for people who have received compensation after serious or life-changing injury to protect that means-tested benefits. Diane also has experience advising people about lasting powers of attorney when someone wants to appoint another person to make decisions on their behalf should they lose the capacity to do this themselves.
