Jeremy Clough
Solicitor - Chartered Legal Executive
SRA ID: 657983
Jeremy is a Chartered Legal Executive with the Institute of Legal Executives, a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, an associate member of the Law Society Private Client Section and a full professional member of Solicitors for the Elderly. Jeremy was trained at the northern office of a large international firm, and has also worked in small high street practices. From 2003 Jeremy provided probate and estate administration services part-time for A M Davies, and also for other firms. In early 2018 Jeremy decided that he no longer wished to compromise on his focus for the provision of legal services, and relaunched the private client services of A M Davies to a very warm reception. Jeremy is aware that while some people like to meet in the formal surroundings of an office many clients are more comfortable seeing their advisers, including legal advisers, in or from their own homes. Jeremy aims to work closely with financial advisers and accountants to provide a collaborative service to their clients and to avoid the dangers of contradictory advice. Jeremy qualified as a legal accountant (now known as a chartered legal executive) in 1991. He was admitted as a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in 1996. This membership is maintained by a strict training programme, which ensures that STEP practitioners are always up to date.

I have known Jeremy since he assisted my parents with their wills in 2003.
My father, in particular, had a great relationship with Jeremy. Later that year we experienced a very traumatic bereavement when my brother died without a will. Jeremy sympathetically helped us with the process for dealing with the estate of someone who has died intestate. The years have rolled by and Jeremy has been called upon following the passing of my mother in 2006 and my father in 2017. I know I speak for myself and the rest of the family when I say that Jeremy comes very highly recommended by ourselves. We have always found him to be most professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Myself and my husband have made new wills with him. We felt we needed new wills as our circumstances are not straightforward. Jeremy has made it easy for us and we can’t thank him enough.

Jeremy has advised my wife and me in the drafting of family wills.
At all times I found Jeremy very efficient, helpful and clear in his advice and would have no hesitation in recommending his services to others. More recently Jeremy has been acting for me and my co-executor in the administration of a friend’s estate which did have some complexities and here again he exemplified thorough professionalism, knowledge and courtesy. He has also at other times been very helpful in offering advice in more general terms.

He has explained things in a way we could understand and no questions have been left unanswered in this challenging case. Everything has been handled so diligently and with integrity. He has made an extremely traumatic situation easier to deal with.

Review for Jeremy
May I take this opportunity to thank you sincerely for all you have done over the past year. I feel that [my daughter] and I made a very good decision when we decided to use an expert in probate to handle these matters
