Very poor advise (construction matter)

We engaged Edin and Coe, specifically Brenna Baye, the head of Construction, with the hope of receiving legal guidance and advice to clarify our legal standing. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the presence of a trainee solicitor who lacked the necessary competence in their field. This trainee solicitor simply summarized information we were already aware of and suggested actions that we had already considered. What was missing from their service was a deeper analysis of the implications of each potential course of action and a lack of insight into the best and most cost-effective steps to take.

To add to our disappointment, Brenna proposed to charge us a substantial £750 for a 30-minute phone call. This demand came after we had already paid them £1500 and received no meaningful value in return. This additional request for payment was both surprising and unreasonable, leaving us feeling that we had wasted our financial resources.

In summary, our experience with Edwin and Coe was less than satisfactory. We advise others to steer clear of their services, as we found them to be a poor investment, providing minimal value for the fees they charged.

David Greene owner lied under oath in court

I have endured a Legal battle for 13 years which has decimated my life and been perpetuated by the now EX President of the Law Society, David Greene owner of Edwin Coe LLP, who has made knowingly false statements under oath in order to gain a financial Judgement against me personally, when he had only ever represented my Limited liability company.
My company had paid him £80k for dire representation in a case which he lost
The High Court Judgement confirms that there is arguable evidence that the statements of Greene are not honest , as did 2 previous hearings of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal comprising of 6 members who stated in their rulings that the was credible evidence of dishonesty by Greene.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority , who are supposedly separate to the Law Society but are actually part of it, refused to investigate when instructed to do so by the SDT. They had claimed that a previous County Court Judgement meant that there should be no disciplinary action despite their own rules contradicting this.
I am very grateful that the High Court Judges have spent time to review the extensive evidence and concluded that there is an arguable case that not only did Green make statements which mislead the court but that he did so knowingly. The statement in the Judgment that ‘ a lie that does not mislead the recipient is still a lie’ is very telling

It is a sad indictment of the Legal Profession that not a single solicitor or barrister would represent me in the High Court case and make robust arguments about Greene’s dishonesty.

A key point to acknowledge is not just that Greene made false statements under oath , it is that he did so with supreme confidence that the Judge and the Solicitors Regulatory Authority would turn a blind eye. The UK Justice is Broken petition has been signed by 3500 people and Legal Professionals and politicians need to take urgent action to reform Legal Regulation and restore Public trust. Green recently made a statement that; no one should be above the law. That should include him!

Avoid them like a plague

I consulted them for my ILR application with a little bit of technical history. It was about £360 (excl VAT) an hour with a week prior notice to review all the facts and documents sent to them. George Curie and Dhruti Thakrar were the ones put in charge. The said consultation (on phone with Dhruti) was a blatant rip-off. You know when you are ripped of if your consultant begins to get the facts of your case wrong. You know you are ripped off if you end up enlightening your consultant on facts your matter in an expensive hourly slot. At the end of it, there was no legal insight offered from them. Surely, more is expected from such a reputed law firm. But they seem to profit from the vulnerability of people. My complaint emailed to them has not been responded to up till this moment. They don't care for you but for your money.
