Conveyancing as a test of endurance
We used Walters & Plaskitt for the sale of my late mother's property. Walters & Plaskitt were very good in the face of the buyers being the slowest buyers in the world. The sale process took almost six months from when the offer was accepted to completion but absolutely none of this arduous process was the fault of Walters & Plaskitt. On the contrary , whenever legal questions or matters for W&P arose they were dealt with in a timely and professional manner. I understand from other people that what I experienced was similar to what all house purchases are like at present. [shudder]

Unfortunately, my experience with this firm was disappointing. Whilst the trainee solicitor assigned to our case was helpful and responsive, there appeared to be significant delays when matters required sign-off from the main solicitor. Communication throughout the process was poor, with a lack of coordination between members of the team, which resulted in unnecessary delays and frustration. There were multiple occasions where communication was difficult, to the point that even our estate agents struggled to get hold of the firm. The conveyancing process became far more long-winded and stressful than it needed to be. Since completing on our property, I have also received several communications in error from the firm (4 as of date), including being mistakenly added to a WhatsApp group unrelated to my matter and receiving emails regarding an active purchase despite having completed 9 months ago. Given the importance of confidentiality and attention to detail in conveyancing matters, I found these repeated errors concerning and unprofessional. I have had no explanation to why this keeps happening and the only response I have had is “ I assure you it will not repeat itself no more.” I have also been contacted since moving in to my home stating that they needed me to resend all my documents for proof of deposit and statements due to them losing them. While some members of the team were helpful, overall I was left disappointed by the level of communication and the repeated administrative mistakes. I would not recommend or use in the future due to this.
