I can't convey how much Nicola's help meant to me. She helped me navigate the legal process, when I was too fraught to get my head round it, it in a way that: *gave me strength to persevere for a fair settlement, putting me in a better position than I was initially going to accept - giving me more financial security going forward *helped me see that I didn't have to put myself second to appease him & explained what a judge/court would be likely to view as reasonable - so that I didn't feel intimidated by his, sometimes, abusive, approach/communications. Helping me deal objectively with those long/traumatising communications from him - telling what I could ignore - what was important. * kept everything in order & organised, giving me really clear instructions/advice about what I had to do re the process, provision of info, position statement etc. * advised me re the implications of taking different routes to financial settlement - giving an objective view of things - e.g. when she advised that going to Court was going to be my best option given the difficulties I was experiencing with negotiating a fair split with my husband * persevering to the absolute very end to improve the settlement for me * respecting my views/opinions - but clearly explaining the implications of the decisions I took * letting me know if there was the opportunity for me to undertake some of the work that was needed myself to reduce costs * she is very approachable, friendly and kind - as well as being strong and dependable.
