We were recommend to David and Slater Heelis by a family member and we were very happy with the services that we received. It was clear to us that David had vast experience and throughout the process we realised the services were much better than the seller's solicitors, who we had initially been recommended to us by the estate agent. As first time buyers we were very unaware of the house buying process, so from outset we were sent some of Slater Heelis' standard materials which really helped make things clear and give us some expectations of timelines in the purchase. David also communicated the initial steps he would take and after working through documentation with a little extra reading we were well on our way. During the process it was identified that the house we were purchasing could have issues with contaminated land and this was pursued with the seller & sellers solicitors by David and team. It was clear that the seller's were unaware of this and the seller's solicitor had issues providing solutions to this and other queries. Eventually, with David & team's persistence, we were able to solve the query and David was able to sort insurance for other outstanding queries which couldn't be solved. Following up on these details provided us with assurance that we were covering all basis, and will help protect us from future liability which is invaluable. As first time buyers we also utilised LISA's to fund the deposit required and this was smoothly handled by David with our LISA provider, and although we missed out on the stamp duty holiday David & team were able to provide us with the expected amount due which was accurate and processed accordingly. Finally at completion we had some technical issues with the lender that we were using and David & team were all over it. Throughout the completion day we were in contact with David to ensure that everything would go through and despite a small delay we were able to complete and move as expected. Overall David and the Slater Heelis team were really helpful with ensuring our property purchase went through according to plan and we are grateful for the services we received. As a result we would definitely recommend and use again!
