This work covers helping an individual handle the probate process after a death, including applying for the grant of probate or letters of administration, valuing the estate, paying debts and taxes, and distributing assets to beneficiaries. A solicitor in this area advises on necessary forms, collects assets, negotiates with banks and HMRC, and ensures the estate complies with the Probate Registry requirements. They also draft or review wills, advise on Inheritance Tax and reliefs, and coordinate with executors and trustees to protect beneficiaries’ interests.

Used Amicus to process our application for probate. They have a local office which allowed me to drop off and pick up paperwork easily. They were very responsive whenever I contacted them and our application was processed in a timely fashion, taking into account the restrictions on them by government organisations.

Maitland Walker dealt with probate for me and demonstrated an efficient but caring attitude. They supported me through the process and sent clear communication of any requirements. It has made the process very easy and a pleasure doing business with this company.

I honestly cannot recommend Michael highly enough. The professional and empathetic support he provided, made the most difficult time of my life, more bearable. I enlisted Michael's help when my partner died without a will. We owned a house together, and, as you would expect, our lives were inextricably linked. I did not know where I stood or what would happen, which felt very scary at a time when my world had already been turned upside down. Michael takes a holistic approach to his cases, expertly advising on the legalities but also taking account of the emotions of the situation. After our first meeting, I immediately felt more informed on the situation and also reassured that whatever was going to happen I would have Michael in my corner to help. His communication was excellent throughout and very proactive. In the end, everything was resolved amicably but the peace of mind it gave me knowing I had Michael to help was invaluable to me. I honestly don't know how I would have coped without his advice and support. Thankyou Michael
