As this was the first time I’d been an executor I wasn’t ready for what it entailed. Paperback and forms kept on being sent to me with questions I’d have no idea what the answer was. On speaking to the solicitor regarding that I’d never lived at the property so most of the. Questions I couldn’t answer. He advised me to fill in the questions that I could and he’d explain to the buyers solicitors my concerns. After a long winded period we finally got there with him passing on my concerns. Any time I needed some help or advise he was only too happy to help. When I finally meet him he understood what I’d gone through and that it’s not as straight forward as it seems.would recommend.

Unfortunately, due to his condition deteriorating so quickly, we were anxious to place Inheritance Act Statements on our wills which we had been intending to do for a long time, but never actioned it. Following changes to IHT legislation, I consulted Katrina on the best way to deal with a property I have owned for over 25 years. It has never been let or used commercially and is, in effect a "second home". It is abroad. Katrina quickly sorted out the best solution, including putting it into joint names with my wife first, to avoid any "advance IHT" charges that might have arisen . At a quoted fee estimate at the outset, everything was completed in a most efficient manner. I would wholeheartedly recommend Katrina to anyone.
