Family Law Executive at Wollens

Elizabeth Foster

Family Law Executive

I have more than 20 years experience in Family Law and I have been with Wollens since 2007 having previously worked at a highly regarded Hampshire law firm. My Family Law specialism is in resolving financial issues for divorcing parties or those separating following the breakdown of relationships where the parties have never contracted their relationship. I offer a professional understanding to clients who are dealing with a divorce or a dissolution of a civil partnership or a separation after living together. It is during these difficult and stressful times that parties often need help to sort out the family home and/or their finances. I am mindful that these are times when it is important to provide straightforward, easy to understand advice with guidance and a clear way to move forward. I support the Family Law Protocol set out by Resolution which encourages disputes to be resolved in a constructive and non-confrontational manner. My first aim is always to try and avoid the need for clients to attend court and therefore avoid the costs associated with court proceedings, by exploring alternative methods to resolve their issues and by engaging in negotiations. My overall aim is to enable clients and their former partners to emerge from their relationship breakdown with an outcome which is fair and economically proportionate. Some clients are alert to the financial and other impacts of a relationship breakdown and so they are keen to make cautionary preparations before they marry or start living together and in some cases, after they have married. I am happy to advise and assist clients in the preparation of nuptial agreements and living together agreements.
