Having first joined Russell & Russell as an Apprentice in 2019, Laurie worked in our Personal Injury Department where she successfully completed her Business Administration Apprenticeship. She then moved to Cobden House Chambers in Manchester in the role of Clerking Assistant, where she dealt with Probation matters, communicated with Court staff and expanded on her knowledge of the Criminal Legal system. Laurie then returned to Russell & Russell to work in our Criminal Department based at our Head Office in Bolton. She deals with all types of criminal matters, including Police Station, Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court work. Laurie is in the process of completing her Police Station Accreditation and is eventually aiming to complete her CILEX Qualification as she aspires to become a Qualified CILEX Advocate. Being passionate about helping people, Laurie undertook a role as a Domiciliary Care Worker to enable her to look after the physical, emotional and social needs of vulnerable individuals. She is trained to recognize signs of abuse and know how to report them. During her free time, Laurie enjoys being outdoors and walking her dog, Piper. She loves socializing, dining out and travelling.

Laurie helped me go through stressful period where I faced long list of false allegations by my ex-husband who was abusing the public resources and wasting police time to retaliate me filing for divorce using twisted narratives and playing victim cards to get me arrested for coercive control to cover his own controlling behaviours including taking all my years of my full-time incomes by lying and continuing to refuse my access to my moneys post divorce to deprive me financially. Laurie helped me liaise with police case officer and provided her support as best as she could.

Police Custody DV allegations
Laurie Learmont attended the police station I was being detained at and represented me through legal aid. The false allegations made by my ex wife for historic domestic violence were simply not true and extremely distressing to hear. Laurie empathetically listened, assisted me during interview and upon my release regularly liaised with my family law Russell & Russell Solicitor and the Police.

Amazing work

Positive feedback
I found myself in a situation to say the least.
I was recommended Laurie via someone I know and straight from the start she couldn’t have been more helpful.
Fully explained the charge, fully explained the sentencing guidelines and was there every step of the way.
Nothing was too much.
She’s a credit to Russell & Russell.

Brilliant Firm
Russell & Russell have always been brilliant throughout the years we have used them, they are fast knowledgeable and kept the family informed throughout. Laurie was fantastic last evening when she came out to see my brother in the early hours. She was professional, but also kind and understanding.
Our family is very grateful for all the work that Laurie, Harry, Adam and team have done over the last few years.
