This is factually incorrect. This negative review is not from our client. It appears to be from a frustrated family member. We dealt with M Ali’s brother’s case professionally and diligently between the 31/03 and 20/4 when we were constantly contacted throughout the day and out of office hours in the evening and on the weekends without being formally instructed or having any funds on account. We engaged in constant communication with the client and family members spending over 6 hours over a 20 day period, including writing to the client in custody and attending a legal visit which was booked for 1 hour at the agreed fixed fee rate of £350 plus vat. M Ali did not pay the fixed fee and the vat is still outstanding. The client wished to instruct our firm to represent him but M Ali and family members did not want to place the firm in funds to act accordingly. We did not book the legal visit 17 days after, this was the first availability at the prison, sadly we have no control over the bookings. This was explained clearly in all lines of communication and M Ali confirmed they understood this. It transpired during the legal visit that the client was not eligible for legal aid funding and wanted to instruct our firm privately as he was not happy with his current solicitors as he was remanded at the police station and refused bail at the Magistrate’s court and he believed his current solicitors were not good. It is untrue that our firm would purposefully not answer, there were no issues with any phone calls to our office. Mr Khan was not angry with M Ali’s brother and it was never said that he is annoyed with M Ali. It was explained in all lines of communication that he should refrain from contacting Mr Khan during unsociable hours, particularly when the legal visit was booked and everything in hand. The fees for private representation for both solicitors and barristers was requested and the fees quoted were given as an approximate guide as to what they could expect and it was explained that funds would need to be on account to ensure representation is booked. Mr Khan has not lied and not been rude on the phone to anyone. We provide excellent service to all clients of all backgrounds, we do not discriminate or distinguish between clients. Mr Khan treats all clients as equal and does not treat individuals as inferior. Private fees for representation can differ from firm to firm. For example, the fees can vary for junior and senior solicitors and barristers and quotes are provided accordingly. Different firms can provide different quotes based on experience and expertise across the region.
