Always a delay and only seemed to be doing something or have any update when I contacted them and it just seemed like a lot of chasing up and a of stuff being conveniently done or completed or chased up on the day I’d email. I think I emailed twice about being unhappy with the service. And to top it off had I not contacted them for an update I’d of not known they hadn’t sent me the mortgage deeds to sign and this was less than 2 working days prior to completion.
I chose this solicitors based on reviews and whilst they were friendly and did get it done, I don’t feel like they provided a service that I was happy with nor would I ever recommend. I do have to say, Gail I think her name was, did come to my house to get the mortgage deeds signed which was great and I fully appreciate, although I kind of expected nothing less considering it was an error on their part.

Helpful and friendly
I had a great experience working with JMLewis for my Transfer of Equity - everything was quick and simple and everyone was very friendly over the phone and when I popped into the offer. I'm also working with them through a house purchase and can recommend for both processes.

Excellent Service from Start to Finish
I used John M Lewis & Co when buying a property, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Gail Butler, the senior property solicitor handling my case, was absolutely outstanding. She was highly professional, extremely knowledgeable, and truly dedicated.
There was a historic covenant on the property dating back to 1926, but Gail didn’t give up until she secured an indemnity from the seller to protect my rights. Her persistence and attention to detail gave me real peace of mind.
What impressed me even more was that Gail personally answered calls and kept me regularly updated throughout the process. It’s rare to find that level of commitment these days.
Even the receptionist was courteous and professional, which reflects the overall high standard of the firm.
I’m genuinely glad I chose John M Lewis & Co and would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and thorough legal support in property matters.

Great service for a complicated house sale
We are very happy with the service that was provided from Gail at John M Lewis. Despite many obstacles along the way, Gail got us across the finish line. A pleasure to deal with and will be using again in the future.

Read on if you want to avoid a nightmare move!
Gail and the were what I would describe as absolute super heroes! Our chain was fraught with issues and Gail and the team kept focussed and navigated the path through. I am aware of other issues in the legal process however I am a certified 'Team Butler' fanatic and just can not rave about the her and the team enough.
You would do no better other than to use these services.
(btw, this is n ow my 3rd move completed with them, that should say enough in it own right).
