He deals with cases across all stages of the criminal law process, from early investigation advice and representation, negotiations with prosecuting and investigative authorities, through to charge and subsequent trial. Alan is well versed in acting for clients whose cases have attracted significant media attention, both nationally and internationally, including terrorism, serious sexual offences, multi-million pound frauds with international or cross-border issues, false accounting, fraudulent trading, insider trading prosecutions by the FCA, Health & Safety Executive prosecutions, money laundering, proceeds of crime and confiscation, as well as advising and representing well-known figures in the fields of business, media, sport and entertainment. Having previously worked in the City in a large Commercial Law firm, this has naturally enabled him to offer advice and representation in cases of large-scale fraud, HMRC prosecutions, and all aspects of serious and complex business crime litigation. Additionally, he advises and defends Health and Safety and Education Act matters, as well as advising and representing in other regulatory matters such as professional disciplinary tribunals. He has also presented seminars to offer guidance to corporate bodies on the impact of certain aspects of criminal legislation, such as corporate manslaughter, and has also had articles published on such subjects as Proceeds of Crime proceedings and Appeal issues. Alan Burcombe is also well known for the work he has conducted in the appellate courts. Such cases have included R v Abdroikof and others, being a House of Lords case which considered the fairness of serving police officers and CPS lawyers sitting on Juries, and Al-Khawaja & Tahery vs United Kingdom in the European Court of Human Rights, which dealt with highly significant issues on the law relating to hearsay evidence and the right to a fair trial.

Very professional and efficient with positive results

I used BK Law for a very serious case, after some foes and the police tried to incriminate me. It was a very stressful and traumatic experience, but Alan and his team at BK Law were very reassuring and experienced at handling everything in such a professional manner with good communication at every step and excellent representations from his Barristers at court appearances. Thanks to their good work I had good results with a positive outcome to my case. I highly recommend BK Law for reassurance, good representation, peace of mind and good results.

The Epitome of Professional Excellence

This firm, and in particular Alan Burcombe, have restored my faith in the legal profession after I had been deeply disappointed elsewhere. The standard of excellence was truly matchless, while the humanity, compassion and genuine care I experienced were unparalleled. From the very beginning, I felt that I was treated not merely as a client, but as a member of the family. Alan took a genuine personal interest in my case. He listened patiently and attentively, no matter how many questions or concerns I had, and never once made me feel that I was a burden. His responsiveness was truly exceptional - something that, sadly, has become increasingly rare in this profession. Knowing that he was always available to provide guidance and reassurance gave me enormous confidence throughout what was an extremely difficult period. What impressed me most was not only Alan's outstanding legal expertise, but also his integrity, dedication and unwavering commitment to his clients. He consistently went above and beyond what I had expected from a solicitor. I would not hesitate to say that it is the best value for money service anyone could ask for. I recommend this firm without the slightest hesitation. If anyone is considering instructing them and would like to speak to me personally about my experience, I would be more than happy to do so. My experience with Alan Burcombe and his team has been nothing short of exceptional, and I will remain sincerely grateful for everything they have done for me.

Accusation against my Son.

From our first conversation, Alan listened, time was not a problem, he made me feel at ease. Whenever I called, Alan would always make time, listen and communicates clearly.
