Selina’s Role on the Board of Trustees of Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife Selina sits on the Board of Trustees of Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife, having accepted a post in July 2022. Relationship Scotland is a charitable organisation with which Selina has had a close connection over her 16 years of practice. Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife is responsible, among other necessary services, for providing Child Contact Centres throughout Tayside and Fife. Contact Centres have a vital role in facilitating, and nurturing, parent/child relationships. Most commonly Contact Centres are used when the parent/ child relationship has broken down as a result of separation, or other issues arising that prevent one parent from facilitating contact with the other parent. Often Contact Centres can be used to facilitate the reintroduction of parents who have been estranged from their children for long periods of time. This can be for all manner of reasons, and the trained staff within the centre are used to dealing with a wide variety of circumstances, offering understanding and empathy to those who access the service. Contact Centres provide a safe, child-friendly environment, are also capable of providing additional support to children who have more complex needs, and ensuring they are familiar with the staff and the centre in advance of contact taking place. Selina is delighted to have been given the opportunity to participate with Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife as a member of the Board of Trustees.
