I cannot recommend Joanna Connolly Solicitors highly enough. I was defending a Fast Track claim in the County Court at Coventry brought by Intrum Poplar Designated Activity Company and contacted them only weeks before the trial. I had been dealing with it myself as a litigant in person, which was extremely stressful given the issues around assignment, disclosure, witness evidence and the Consumer Credit Act. Instructing Joanna Connolly Solicitors changed everything. They specialise exclusively in defending consumers against banks and debt purchasers – they never act for the lenders – and their expertise in these cases is exceptional. They took the case on, handled the procedural and evidential complexities with total professionalism, and represented me at the trial even at such short notice .The claim was successfully defended and dismissed. The relief of not having a judgment for this debt was enormous. Joanna and the team were clear, approachable, responsive and completely focused on getting the right result. They took the pressure off and fought the case properly. If you are being pursued by Intrum, Cabot, PRA, Arrow or any other debt purchaser over a credit agreement you do not recognise, or where there are identity issues, contact them. They know this area inside out and deliver results. Joanna and the team were extremely helpful - worked late and gave me an enormous feeling of relief whenever I spoke to them - Tom who turned up at court was an amazing guy and wiped the floor with the opposing solicitor - I cannot recommend these guys enough - Just use them you will not be disappointed 5 stars – outstanding service and outcome.

I cannot thank Joanna Connolly and her team enough for the outstanding legal defences they have prepared in representing me, twice… they truly are just brilliant at what they do, successfully defending both Claims plus recovering all costs. Everyone l spoke with at the firm is down to earth and easy to speak with… not your usual pompous stuffy solicitor’s firm in any way at all. Sam and Emma in the office are great and always know what’s going on. Gerry was the first-person l had a telephone consultation with, and he really put my mind at rest, but the biggest praise must definitely go to Joanna who is just FANTASTIC! The defences she put together are admirable and her attention to detail is first class. She is an absolute expert in consumer credit and knows her stuff, full stop. Joanna appointed a Barrister called Tom Brennan to represent me at Trial and he was also phenomenal (l actually found out that PRA had issued a bundle to the court very late and Tom had stayed awake until 4:30am on the day of the trial to ensure he had quashed any arguments PRA had rushed together). Needless to say, Tom absolutely annihilated PRA in Court and the Judge ended up dismissing the case and awarding all of our costs. I was facing nearly 400,000 worth of PG claims and tried to defend them myself with a bit of advice from a non legal PG expert. That sort of my was potentially life changing and the stress was unimaginable. Joanna and her team took control of the 2 cases even though they were a messy. They stuck by me over the years of waiting and gave me confidence we would win. The 1st case we a PG with a merchant and the case was built that strongly that they walked away from it. The second one was a very large amount of money that went too court. Joanna recommended a barrister who was perfect for the case and for me. Together they built a case but the difference on the day was the preparation. Our prep alone was so much more organised and precise too the argument than the 4 lawyers on the other side. We guided the Judge too the points of relevance consistently and won I know that both Joanna and my barrister Thomas were a business and working but I felt safe and secure that I was being supported and protected by people that genuinely care. They saved me in more ways than they know and all I can say in return is Thank You

Joanna Connolly are a fantastic law firm who have helped me with multiple cases. The staff are very warm and friendly and everything is explained very clearly. The first 2 cases were dealt with out of court, however the most significant was a recent one which went to court. The barrister who JCS recommended (Tom Brennan) was equally good, and our case was so well prepared that it took the judge about 5 minutes to throw the case out. In addition the judge awarded costs meaning that I was refunded the fees. Companies such as the claimant in my case are incredibly predatory. I was in a serious mental health crisis when I originally got into debt around five years ago and I imagine this is a similar story for many people. The repackaging of such debts to be bought and sold seems unconscionable to me and in this case correct procedures were not being followed. At least part of the debt which the claimant had purchased was not from a credit card I had ever taken out. Without the help of Joanna Connolly Solicitors I would have had to incorrectly pay a sum of money which would have been highly stressful, as well as impacting my credit score which I am trying to repair. So I am really grateful to this firm, thank you!

I have used these guys for 4 different disputes following issues I have had when some of my accounts were sold. They have always been extremely helpful, efficient, effective and great to deal with. They always break things down into layman's terms and help you understand what is happening. They have resolved my disputes in my favour each time and advise on best course of action.
