Ben joined BTTJ in March 2024 as a Solicitor within our busy Residential Conveyancing team, based out of our Coventry office. Ben qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 having completed his Training Contract with a Legal 500 firm in the West Midlands. He has worked for a range of firms across the Midlands and specialises in all aspects of residential property with clients returning to him for his calm and efficient approach. Ben is also deputy chair of the Birmingham Law Society’s Property & Development Committee. In September 2024, after years of hard work, Ben was appointed as a Notary Public and a member of The Notaries Society. Ben’s position as a Notary Public provides services to both businesses and individuals. Ben spends 80% of his time on residential property matters and deals with all types of residential property matters, he spends the remaining 20% of his time on Notary matters.

    Could not have asked for a better service

    I cannot recommend Ben James and the firm highly enough. I was purchasing a property using overseas source of funds, and many conveyancing firms in Coventry were unable/unwilling to take on my case because of the complexity of AML checks. This firm however guided me throughout the AML checks in a very clear, user-friendly way. Ben has an excellent grasp of conveyancing law and practice. He was meticulous in reviewing the seller's solicitor's documents, ensuring that everything required was provided and raising further enquiries whenever necessary to protect my interests. He kept me regularly updated about he how was resolving issues or documentation gaps with the seller’s side, which was always reassuring and a confidence boost. Ben’s proactive communication also meant that whenever I had questions about complex technical matters, he was easy to reach and able to explain things in clear plain language without making me feel rushed. Overall the attention to detail and commitment to client service were first-class from start to finish. Many thanks to Ben and Clare!
