My wife and I have used DFA Law for a number of years to advise on different stages of a long-running and complex case relating to developer's offer for a lease to build new flats on the roof of the building in which live and own a share in the freehold company. Throughout this time DFA's lawyers have provided consistently sound and reliable advice at very reasonable and affordable rates. Matters came to a head for us just before Christmas 2023, when we found ourselves - without any notice or consultation - effectively being coerced by the directors of the company and the developer to agree to a massively undervalued premium for the space, and to accept a substantially reduced and non-negotiable compensation offer for surrendering our leaseholder rights and living with the disruption of a 1-2 year build directly above our flat (with a 2-week ultimatum over the public holidays to accept the latter offer or it would be withdrawn). In the circumstances we turned again to DFA Law to help us and one of the partners, Paul Currie, stepped into the breach immediately. Paul was exemplary in leading us through that intense period and beyond, helping us to understand our rights and options, and acting on our behalf in all dealings with the legal representatives of the company and its individual directors, and the developer. Paul's expertise in the relevant law, extensive experience of litigation, professionalism, and empathetic approach helped us to steer a course through the following 9 months, and eventually arriving at the best outcome available to us, while at the same time acting as a calm and reassuring influence at a time of high stress for us..  We would unhesitatingly recommend Paul and his team to anyone finding themselves in a similar situation - alone and facing oppressive, coercive and prejudicial behaviour towards them by entities and individuals with strong vested interests and with powerful corporate resources available to them.

I had an awful situation arise and after terrible advice from a solicitor I was dealing with at the time, I managed to find Paul Currie of DFA Law. It was a Friday night around 8pm and the solicitor I was working with at the time dropped a bombshell on me and just left it there. I was in such a state I was Facebook messaging any solicitor begging for advice immediately and offering to pay double - it was Friday at 8pm so I knew it was highly unlikely! To my surprise, Paul messaged back and offered to call me. He was professional, calm, understanding and reassuring. He took my case on and I spoke to him at a respectful time during office hours! He gave me advice and explained every step thoroughly, he took the weight completely off my shoulders. I can honestly say, if it wasn’t for Paul, I think I’d have had a nervous breakdown. I am so grateful for his expertise, professionalism and mostly his ability to be patient and keep me calm! I cannot recommend him enough
