Would I recommend, no!
PM law came on recommendation via a mortgage broker, we had two solicitors handle our remortgage. Communication, I would say is not PM Laws key attribute. One of the handlers, came across rude on the telephone, it only took for me to esculate the issue it was resolved otherwise I was told this was something solicitors don't do when in fact they do but it seemed it was deemed as extra work for this particular solicitor. Communication through email was hard work. The only positive email i recieved and happy to help was the end of completion. Using a broker and a solicitor is meant to take the stress away when in fact it did the polar opposite, oh and the figures were calculated incorrectly also just to add insult to injury. Would I recommend this firm to others? No.

Very bad experience
A few things happened during the engagement which warrant the lowest rating
1. I was confirmed twice in writing that receiving the shortfall will not mean any extra payment. There was no mention that the shortfall can only be received via Chaps We used faster payments and were charged extra £50+Vat as extra admin..
2. They delayed the completion which meant extra interest charge. When I disputed that, I was informed that until we pay this completion will not be done resulting in delays and extra interest.
3. They requested funds from New Lender so many days in advance resulting in us paying extra interest. In total we had to pay £200 extra to them +extra interest to te ne lender
4. The Accounts department is highly incompetent. It takes days for them to locate payments
5. They charge the client before completion rather than invoicing after completion like reputable lawyers do.
6. They completed but never Paid the current Lender. We had to call them to inform them that the funds have not been received at all. Their Account department never realized that the funds had bounced back to them a week ago!. It caused a lot of stress to us as £200K was lost. Thankfully the funds were located and they managed to resend them after a week. If I hadn't informed them of the misplacement, this would have meant two mortgages on my house, arrears on my credit file and extra interest of 8.79% from the previous lender.
7. Various departments don't coordinate well with each other. The lawyer just uses the same excuse every time - "I will have to check with Accounts"
8. The main Lawyer "Luke Kirk" is extremely rude

Only just got the job done
The initial experience was good and collection of info and verification was efficient. Once it got going though, communication was extremely poor throughout. I only got information and updates if I chased. I had to call 3 times on completion day and couldn't actually get through to the assigned solicitor. Everything was very last minute...

A very good service overall
I was contacted by telephone as soon as my case was allocated to Team Kirk and they kept me informed all the way. I needed my mortgage to be completed within three weeks and they pulled it off despite it went over the Easter weekend and just before the end of the financial year. Thank you.

Avoid!
I have had the worst experience with these solicitors over the last few weeks. Used the firm for a simple remortgage of my house - needed a timely service due to falling into a SVR and also being in the process of selling my home. Clearly explained this to the firm who are the start were all promises of getting this completed as soon as possible. Completion date given for 14th March however on this date received a phone call stating one of the signatures on the forms ‘didn’t match’ so had to redo the form. Did so and sent back the next day and it was confirmed this would then complete on the 18th. No contact from the firm on this date so when I chased the next day, another form was not correct therefore had to wait for this to be chased with the bank and a new mortgage offer to be issued. No communication from the firm and when I called every day was simply told that they could not give me a date or any timescales. This went on for another fortnight until given another completion date of 28th. Sent funds at 9am and still had to call 3 times to chase this during the day until it was finally sorted at 4pm right before a bank holiday weekend. This firm caused delays in my house sale progress as well as incurring massive costs on a SVR. I would recommend anyone to avoid this firm at all costs!

Efficient and professional
I did have a good experience with P M Property and would use them again.
