Alexander completed his Traineeship at McGlashan Mackay Solicitors in November 2020 and is now a Qualified Solicitor at the Firm. During his traineeship, Alexander was exposed to the breadth of immigration and asylum work and has continued to build upon this as a Qualified Solicitor. ​ Prior to joining McGlashan Mackay Solicitors, Alexander completed his LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde and obtained a Masters in European Law at the University of Maastricht. ​ Alexander has represented asylum seekers in terms of their applications to the Home Office and in presenting appeals before the First-tier Tribunal. In addition to experience in the area of asylum, Alexander has also advised on entry clearance applications for spouses and unmarried partners, as well as complex Article 8 ECHR claims involving children and parents. ​ Alexander also has experience dealing with social security related matters and welcomes cases involving these issues, insofar as they are linked to immigration matters in the United Kingdom. ​ Alexander is also a Notary Public.
