Alexander completed his Traineeship at McGlashan Mackay Solicitors in November 2020 and is now a Qualified Solicitor at the Firm. During his traineeship, Alexander was exposed to the breadth of immigration and asylum work and has continued to build upon this as a Qualified Solicitor. Prior to joining McGlashan Mackay Solicitors, Alexander completed his LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde and obtained a Masters in European Law at the University of Maastricht. Alexander has represented asylum seekers in terms of their applications to the Home Office and in presenting appeals before the First-tier Tribunal. In addition to experience in the area of asylum, Alexander has also advised on entry clearance applications for spouses and unmarried partners, as well as complex Article 8 ECHR claims involving children and parents. Alexander also has experience dealing with social security related matters and welcomes cases involving these issues, insofar as they are linked to immigration matters in the United Kingdom. Alexander is also a Notary Public.
