The Employment Solicitor (aka The Specialist Law Group Limited) have been a great assistance to me. From their knowledge of employment law (of course) but through to their understanding of my neurological differences (I have Asperger's) and how to communicate with me have been invaluable. From the off, they explained what my options were and what expectations I should or could have but, at the same time, they never put me under any pressure to settle my dispute with my former employer, rather, instead, took a stance of, ‘If you are not happy, then don’t settle’, whilst explaining the consequences and risks of not settling in a reasonable and honest way. I have been very happy with this firm, including those with whom I have dealt with specifically and more often, including Jenna, Kerry and the boss, Helen, but also everyone else who I dealt with perhaps once or twice only! Also, and importantly, this firm is also not solely ‘money orientated’ like some other solicitor firms have been in my past experience. Of course, they are a business, not a charity, but, unlike many law firms, they don’t simply see ‘£’ signs every opportunity they have to write a letter or email or answer a telephone call. Would I recommend them? Yes. 100%. And if I ever need a solicitor to represent me in a similar case in the future, I’ll be calling them again! But I really hope that I’ll never need to, though.

How do you sum up adequately that someone has changed your life for the better? In my first appointment with Helen I was a broken version of myself. I knew my employer was wrong in the way they had treated me but felt I had no recourse. Within the space of our appointment I felt there was some hope. Over time working with Helen and Kerry I came to see how wrongly I had been treated and being listened to, understood and supported gave me my confidence back. Helen said in our first meeting that clients leave happy with the results but I didn’t imagine how I could. Throughout our respondent threw up so many obstacles I didn’t see how we would get anywhere but with every challenge Helen in her unique way of thinking found numerous opportunities. If you feel alone or like there isn’t much hope get in contact with Helen, she will give you honest well considered advice and support.
