We worked with Douglas and his team over the course of 5 months, and whilst it was an expensive process (working with any solicitor), it was absolutely worth it. Douglas was very approachable and understanding of our complicated case and no question was too big or too small. We felt that Douglas gave very logical and measured advice, never pushing us in a direction but also advising us when we asked specifically “what would you do”. Samantha and Adam were equally vital to the team and each had their specific role which was executed efficiently and promptly. The whole team were very open with communication and planning, but also responded with late notice if something specific came up. We are delighted with the results we achieved, but would equally have provided a very positive review based on our experience even if the results were not in our favour. This is the 3rd time we’ve instructed DSS in relation to our son’s EHCP and as soon as Douglas Silas and his team are involved we feel a huge sense of relief and a reduction in stress. I feel very lucky we have been able to instruct DSS to help us because each time we’ve received a better result than we hoped for. Communicating to the LA can be time consuming and often feel fruitless, the deadlines for submissions and the information that must submitted feels overwhelming. It’s such a relief to have DSS supporting us through the process and highlighting the important points to make and reducing the stress around deadlines. DSS know the system and for us were able to use their knowledge to push for an earlier Tribunal date because we didn’t need a whole day for a hearing, something I would not have known and without DSS I would still be waiting for a Tribunal date in November 2026 but with DSS’s help everything was resolved in March 2026 and we were granted all the points we requested from the LA. Douglas Silas and his team are an EHCP safety net, once they’re on your team the EHCP appeal process becomes far less intimidating and scary. We’re very grateful to DSS for their work on our behalf, highly recommend them and would use.them again.

Douglas and team have been very professional throughout our journey appealing Secondary school. When we first contacted Douglas, we felt lost and knew we would need help securing school for our son. Although we may have reached out later than we should have, however, Douglas and Team were extremely professional and knowledgeable in their field. With their help and support, we were successful in securing a school place for our child. The biggest relief was that we did not have to go to tribunal. Like many parents, I believe we should not have to go through such a difficult process to advocate for our children. However, the system is still challenging to navigate, and I would highly recommend Douglas and team if you need support. He and his team are responsive, professional, and true advocates for SEN families. I would not recommend anyone else and would absolutely use their services again if needed. Also, thank you Sam and Adam for being part of our journey as well. Your professionalism, client care made it happen !Thank you from our family. We are extremely grateful to Douglas and his team for his help at such a difficult and painful time for us and our young daughter. As is clearly always the case Douglas was extremely busy, but understood the seriousness and urgency of our situation and came to our aid. Douglas is obviously the market leader in his field and has an unparalleled level of knowledge & expertise and provided us with excellent advice which achieved the best possible outcome. We do however realise that we are at the start of this journey and we will have no hesitation in employing Douglas again when the need arises as it surely will. On top of the excellent advise and decisive course of action Douglas is understanding and empathetic which is particularly comforting in a very painful situation.
