Catherine qualified as a Solicitor in 2000 and specialises in Family Law. Catherine joined Bishop & Sewell following the merger with Monro Wright & Wasbrough on 1st February 2021. Cath is committed to resolving family issues in a constructive way. She helps people whose marriage or civil partnership is ending, unmarried couples who are separating and parents, grandparents and others about disagreements that have arisen in relation to children. Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor, Cath worked for Social Services for a period of 10 years. After qualifying Cath spent 13 years working at a large firm in Staffordshire, before moving south. She trained as a Collaborative Family Lawyer in 2006 and became a founding member of Staffordshire Collaborative Lawyers and acted as both Chair and Treasurer for the organisation. She subsequently also trained as a Mediator in 2011 and is accredited and able to undertake MIAMs as well as full Mediation sessions. Cath is a member of Resolution, an organisation for Family Lawyers committed to resolving disputes in a constructive way. She was also a member of Resolution’s Dispute Resolution Committee until 2015 and was recently on a Ministry of Justice Committee in connection with applications to be made under the Children Act.
