Joanne obtained her Law degree and Masters degree from The University of Sheffield before the completing the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law, York with a distinction. She undertook her training contract with a local firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2007. Joanne joined Merritts Solicitors LLP’s Private Client department in June 2021 and became a Partner in the practice on 1st November 2022. She deals with all aspects of non-contentious Private Client work including the drafting of Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney, administering Estates, providing Estate and Tax planning advice and undertaking Court of Protection work. Joanne is a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) having completed their Diploma in Trusts and Estates.
