Chloe is a solicitor within our family department. She obtained a Clinical LLB (Hons) together with her Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde completing the Diploma in 2018. Chloe qualified as a solicitor and notary public in 2020 after completing her traineeship in a small firm experiencing a range of different areas of law including civil litigation, conveyancing, family and housing. Chloe is an appointed member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Family and Child Law Sub Committee, which considers draft legislation, court rules and practices, current legislation and whether it is fit for purpose and makes recommendations to the Scottish Government. She is the youngest committee member and brings a diverse and alternative perspective to the committee. Chloe has a varied knowledge of court rules and has experienced several types of court hearings having regularly appeared in sheriff courts across Scotland. She has represented many clients in family matters, which are complicated and anxious, both in and out of court and has a straightforward and pragmatic approach to helping clients reach a solution. Chloe deals with a broad range of family, child and matrimonial cases having particular interest and knowledge in complex financial provision cases on divorce. Chloe also has a keen interest in the finer details and advanced arguments of the interpretation of the legislation. Chloe strives to be candid and open about the reality and outcomes of each case alongside the costs associated. This often includes having to counsel clients through difficult times in their life. Chloe’s sensitive approach is well-matched with her ability to problem solve and achieve both practical and creative ways to have the legislation work in her client’s favour when progressing cases.
