Dishonest about costs
I had an accident at work and Cordell and Co were acting on my behalf. The Defendant in the matter made what is known as a Part 36 offer to a) Cover my Legal costs - As per a letter from Cordell and Co themselves 10-05-2016 - In which they specifically state that the costs in question are MY legal costs that the Defendant MUST pay b) Which for the avoidance of doubt would leave £10,000 paid directly to me - the actual wording in the offer being ' for the avoidance of doubt should this offer be accepted, the claimant will receive the sum of £10,000 in his hand Despite having my legal costs Covered, Cordell and Co decided to help themselves to just over 25% of the money intended for me. I would urge all past clients of Cordell and Co Solicitors to request your files from the firm and if you can contact the defendant in your case as seemingly a) The Defendant paid Cordells legal costs - thinking that I wasnt b) I paid my legal costs - thinking that the Defendant wasnt Upon trying to contact the firm about this I have been met with patronisation, defamatory and degrading remarks and personally I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. PS - Upon looking through my file I also found over 200 pages of someone elses medical history too. Cordell and Co haven't even apologised for this, I have let the other person know as Cordell and Co did send me his contact number alongside his address with the bundle they sent.
