Nobody wishes to find themselves in the situation of undergoing a divorce as it is genuinely one of the most painful life events. Rebecca Gardiner gave me outstanding advice, support and representation throughout the 18 months from instruction to conclusion of the decree absolute. In my field of work, which is not legal, I have many divorce lawyers who have been my clients. The advice given to me by them was that if they were choosing their own divorce lawyer they would recommend Rebecca Gardiner. On this basis I met her and from the initial meeting I was convinced by her calm manner, honesty and supportive nature that she would be the perfect lawyer for me. She was always available, kind, understanding, and an excellent listener after which she cut through and distilled the relevant points clearly for me. It was clear to me all throughout the process that the advice she gave was exactly what she would have suggested were she in my position. There is a saying that goes - “the value comes in the extra mile”. Without doubt Rebecca went many many extra miles for me and I cannot thank her enough. Despite many twists and turns throughout the case the figures she gave me for the likely settlement on our second meeting right at the outset turned out to be almost exactly what the Judge decided on at the private FDR 18 months later. She has a vast experience of the law and despite its elasticity, she knows categorically where the decisions are likely to land. I would admit that this was a process that at times made me feel very anxious and she gave me great reassurance when she would warmly say “don’t worry I have your back”. These were not just warm words but followed up with strong decisive actions. When necessary we had access to senior council and her reputation within the field as a divorce lawyer is such that senior barristers (KC’s) respond to her as if on speed dial. With the process over there is a palpable sense of relief although bizarrely having seen so much of Rebecca over the last 18 months it seems strange not to have our regular meetings. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position to be undergoing a divorce, I can assure you that you will be in the best possible hands and even though my wife chose more expensive fancy lawyers the recommendation I had initially that Rebecca is the divorce lawyer's divorce lawyer shone throughout the case. I was honest enough during the case to tell Rebecca that frankly her charges are significantly less than many other divorce lawyers but she delivers way more and is always thinking how to keep costs to a minimum rather than continuing unnecessary and expensive lines of argument as was clearly the case from the opposition. Thank you, Rebecca. I shall be indebted to you forever and good luck to all your future clients who should feel secure that they are in the best possible hands.
