I contacted around 10 different law firms seeking help with a complex British citizenship application for a child. The responses I received were largely the same: I was quoted the standard requirements and told that the child would need to have lived in the UK for ten years. Then I spoke to Dipendra at Compass Law – and the difference was immediate. Dipendra contacted me within a day of my initial enquiry. Rather than simply applying the standard criteria to the case, he understood the discretionary provisions within the law and recognised that there was another route available where there were compelling circumstances and important safeguarding considerations. He clearly knew this area of law and, from our very first conversation, was confident about how the case needed to be approached. What followed was genuinely outstanding service. This was not a straightforward application. There were a number of professionals and agencies involved, including the local authority and Family Court, and various consents and supporting evidence needed to be obtained. Dipendra took responsibility for moving this forward. He drafted letters, contacted the relevant professionals, chased responses, stressed the urgency where necessary and made sure the evidence required was obtained. His communication throughout was probably the best I have experienced from any professional service. I was never left wondering whether anything was happening with the case. He regularly sent me copies of correspondence, updated me when he had chased someone and kept me informed at every stage. We spoke whenever something needed completing and I always knew exactly where the application was up to. He also quoted me a fee at the outset and stuck to it. However, what impressed me most was something that is much harder to put into a review: I genuinely felt that Dipendra cared about the child behind the application. He never made this feel like just another piece of legal work. He understood why securing citizenship mattered for this particular child and approached the case as someone who was prepared to fight for the right outcome. When the application was ready to be submitted, he prepared an incredibly compelling representation to the Home Office. It didn’t simply set out the legal argument – it brought the circumstances to life and made clear that behind all of the paperwork was a child whose welfare and safeguarding needed to remain at the centre of the decision. I remember thinking at the time that, whatever the Home Office ultimately decided, I would still recommend Dipendra, because I knew there was genuinely nothing more he could have done. I felt completely assured that the case had been presented as strongly as it possibly could have been. The application was submitted in November and, in August, we received the result we had hoped for: British citizenship was granted. Even the way Dipendra told me summed up the service I had received from him. The decision arrived on a day when he and the firm were not working. He could easily have forwarded the Home Office email and left it there. Instead, he personally called me to tell me the good news. It was a small gesture, but after everything he had done over those months, it reinforced what I had felt throughout – he genuinely cared about the outcome for this child. There is honestly nothing I can identify that Dipendra could have done to improve the service I received. His knowledge of the law, persistence, communication, transparency and, above all, the humanity he brought to the case were exceptional. I would recommend Dipendra and Compass Law without hesitation, particularly to anyone dealing with a complex or unusual citizenship matter. Sometimes you need a solicitor who doesn’t just know the standard rules, but knows the law well enough to recognise when a case needs to be looked at differently. For us, that made all the difference.

I'm pleased to share my satisfaction services with Dipendra Fakira and his entire employees including Lucy. I've been referred to Compass immigration by a stranger. Dipendra explained the whole process regarding asylum and how they work. I have been with him since 2021 around May. The whole time, I could communicate with him without boundaries.
