I was busying a house with help from SmartLegal. Dena was very helpful in navigating us through a very challenging process with the seller. The weekly updates and tracking system are all nice features.

When looking for conveyancers to represent me when selling my leasehold flat, Smart Legal put forward one of the cheapest quotes and came with very good reviews. I knew the final bill would be higher, however didn't expect it to nearly triple the original quote due to pricey additional fees!
They did handle my case very well, provided regular updates to all parties involved and chased where required. There were few complications on the way, which I felt could have been dealt with more promptly and better advice provided, but overall it was a good service. The buyer's lawyers (Premier Property Lawyers recommended by Purplebricks) were outrageously and progressively poor, which prolonged the process to over 5 months from offer to completion, with last few weeks being particularly stressful and frustrating, but my solicitor, Dena, helped me through it. At the end of the process we spent so much time on the phone, that weirdly I have been missing the phone calls since the completion! :)
I don't have much experience with buying/selling properties, but some of their additional fees seem high and they require 7 full working days to pass from contract exchange to completion to avoid hefty Expedition Fee. However, I am pretty happy with the service provided by Dena. I'd consider using Smart Legal in the future and would recommend to others.

Hi Bogumil, thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Dena will be happy to see this and will value your feedback as ways to improve for the future. Usually leasehold transactions do not take as long as six months and your matter was unfortunately prolonged due to delays from the buyers side. The requirements in your title documents also made the additional work a necessity and so the fees charged were unique to your case. We inform our clients of any potential additional costs as soon as we are aware of them but I appreciate this is still something that can come as a surprise.
