Poor Service
I didn't choose GloverPreist solicitors, and I wouldn’t recommend them as the firm of choice.
The reason is due to the poor communication during the house buying process from my conveyancer. Initially the first conveyancer went off sick and then they changed them.
I felt as if I was having to call my conveyancer and GloverPreist to get updates instead of them taking the time to email or call me. Not only this , I was charged a high price for the service which I felt was very poor and the process took a long time.
As a first time buyer I needed the support and confidence of my conveyancer at every step but even legal paperwork wasn't discussed with me I had to call someone from the office to help me navigate it but they weren't my conveyancer just an office clerk as he was uncontactable!
Not only this but they didn't contact other parties such as sales office or vendors solicitors. I completed the process in the end but it took 8 months and was all too stressful. Please look elsewhere before choosing GloverPreist.

Property purchase
Shoaib has gone above and beyond my expectations, I deal with a lot of solicitors within my company and I can say he’s been very professional quick to respond, even on a weekend.

Disappointing level of communication
Unfortunately I found it really difficult communicating with Shoiab. He was often unavailable by phone and didn’t answer emails for days.
The seller and I were working towards an agreed completion date and it was not communicated with me at all whether we were on track to complete or not so I had to work out for myself that we were not going to make the agreed date.

Review of conveyancing process
While I ended up completing the transaction, which is good, I think that the experience could have been better. I wish I was regularly updated about the progress of my file (even if it was every two weeks) but instead, I had to constantly call for an update. Also, sometimes, I would have a hard time getting in touch with the solicitors. So, solicitors were not very proactive and therefore I would recommend more attention to clients and better coordination between exchange and completion. I did not feel well informed about the exchange and completion times. For example, I think that the solicitor should have a conversation with their client about completion and when they should ask the lender to release the funds. This is very important because the burden will be on the borrower (client)'s side as they are supposed to start paying interest on the mortgage from that moment. Also, the explanation about the terms of the purchase could have been better.

Very poor
I was passed to 3 different lawyers in 4 months, Shoaib was my lawyer for the 2 months. In the last month I was constantly ringing up to ask him to get things sorted because I was getting emails from estate agents and the lendor expressing that shaoib hasn't been replying to emails. I gave 3 weeks notice for my completion date and booked 3 days off work so I could get into my property stress free. But it turned out that shaoib had forgot to request funds so then I was delayed by 3 days and spent my last days of holiday waiting for everything to be completed.
How expensive these lawyers are you would think the process would be stress free but that was far from the case, felt like I was dealing with teenagers and some of the girls on the secretary team was blunt and ABIT rude. I would never use them again and would tell everyone to avoid.

Land purchase
Took almost 12months to purchase a small piece of land from my neighbour, both sides used Glover Priest & both parties own the properties. GP lost information & struggled to contact neighbour even though specific instructions were given due to her poor hearing & dislike of electronic communication.
Whole process has become very tedious & infuriating for something that we were told would only take a matter of weeks!
