Sarah graduated with a first class honors degree in law at the National University of Ireland Galway before completing the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law in Bloomsbury. Sarah completed her training contract in London at a City-based law firm and qualified as a solicitor before joining Comptons in 2011 to work exclusively within in the Enfranchisement Department given her interest in this particular area of law. Sarah acts on a variety of freehold enfranchisements, statutory and voluntary lease extensions (both for individuals and large groups), right to manage, right of first refusal under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 and missing/absent landlords involving properties in prime central London and the home counties. Not only does Sarah act on the transactional side of her work but she also undertakes the litigation. Sarah frequently advocates in the County Court and in the First Tier Property Tribunal. A highlighted case was when Sarah successfully argued and obtained an unreasonable costs order against a landlord despite such a remedy being very rarely awarded.
