Solicitor Apprentice

Having joined Newfields in 2021 as a Legal Assistant, Emily is now a Team Supervisor and Solicitor Apprentice in the Sports team which involves working with a range of clubs, governing bodies, agents and athletes to identify appropriate visa routes for high-net-worth sportspeople and their accompanying family members entering, remaining or wishing to permanently reside in the UK. Emily’s expertise covers a wide range of visa pathways including the necessary steps to ensure clubs comply with their sponsorship duties. Her remit extends to arranging outbound visas including Schengen Visas and Australian visa applications to enable participation in overseas fixtures. Emily is originally from Cambridgeshire but now lives in Cardiff where she studied a Politics BA and the Graduate Diploma in Law at Cardiff University. Alongside her commitments at Newfields, Emily volunteers at the Ukraine Project Cymru which provides free immigration advice to Ukrainians and their family members who have moved to the Wales due to the War in Ukraine. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travelling and taking part in long distance charity runs.
